Had one yesterday..this is how the conversation went.........i was delivering mail on a round i am not familiar with(regular off)....so as i am progressing along this street....a middle aged(hard looking woman)....came walking down the street.....shouted at me(yes shouted)..can i have the mail for such and such address.....i replied no can do as i am not allowed to hand mail out on the street......she then said didn't i see her coming out of her front door(about 300 yards away)...i said no..she obviously getting more irate at this then shouts at the top of her voice.....your attitude is wrong...i said why is that.....she replies the other postie (who has been on this walk for 10 + years) always gives me my mail......i reply that 1) i don't know her...2) i am not allowed to hand mail out on the street....at which she really loses it...........then she slags me off one more time and then marches off......

Easiest way to avoid this is to say "Sorry Love - your address is in my next bag" even if its not, it gets them off your back and they can't check to see if you are lying after all.

Back in the good old days pre revision (alothough i spose i could still do it now) I would remember any orrible sods and make sure on a saturday, that if they had any overweights or signed fors, that i started the round off at their adddress first, getting them up early is only a small victory but they all count :nana
Tripitaka: "You should live without fear. There's as much chance of good things as bad things."
Sandy: "It's a cheerful philosophy and I've heard it from people before. They're all dead now."
Monkey "Excuse me when I say, that you really are extraordinarily dim!"
