In the last lot of strikes we were told that RM couldn't cancel our SAs without 4 weeks notice so we still got to do them (apart from actual strike days!). This time there is talk that RM are going to decide at a national level whether to cancel the SAs that fall in between the 2 strikes - Sat 1200 to Mon 0300.

I think this is the wrong question, we should be asking do we do any overtime at all while we are in dispute? I know management will threaten us with agency staff or casuals but they can't get the same amount or quality of work done and in the current situation I don't think many outside staff would last long. SA's are different cos they are contracted but we should'nt be doing them on strike days and I am heavily in favour of a complete overtime ban!!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
