It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

dont want to sound callous but i really dont care anymore. ive worked an extra hour each day and worked every day off in december. been pushed, pulled and dragged from one duty to the next. sad part is we interviewed for new recruits in november because we are under staffed but we wont get them til january at the earliest. go figure.

Re: Will your office clear by christmas?
Our little office has been deserted by all local management, so are you being told to leave packets and deliver the letters instead?
Our plan for monday if it's too busy was do specials, trackers, packets and letters for where were going.

No chance. Mail and packets all o'er at the moment. I think there's bods going in tomorrow but I don't see that making a sizeable dent in things. Who knows, though? Maybe everything will turn out rosy. I don't care either way.

Probably clear, really depends on the amount of packets that come in in the next 2 days.

It now seams it is not only us!.k979aaa wrote:So it's just not me then I commend you for your honesty we all have done our best upmost but royal mail have not put the resources that befits a firm who claim 40% of their revenue come's from the very packet's we are told to cull.! And this is our future of said business a failing if any I saw one the problem is top down leadership for cost-cutting not innovation and solutions.! I can only assume Moya Greene is more interested in share options than the service as it was or the business it now is.!noggin1969 wrote:No chance of clearing , packet deliveries out tomorrow but most people turning down the O/T. Monday looks very heavy already with what was left this morning and no one prepared to stop out Christmas eve.

Re: Will your office clear by christmas?
Our Office 50/50 as to wether we clear or not.
Managers and Union are one and just dont know what to do.
Sat morning really busy so a meeting was called.
Wanting as many people in Sunday as possible, lots of undehand deals being done to get people in for Sunday,Certain people get favoured above others ,as usual walking postmen at the bottom of the pile.
Lots of packets to clear and cut offs .Told to think of all the xmas presents people have been waiting for .
Most of us through out December have been working way past our finnishing time ,not a word of thanks for that.
No extra staff ,management say problem is all the staff who are ong term sick .
Problem is poor Management and costcutting,Too late start times, too long rounds, and overtime rate after 10 hours not worth working for.
Hooper was right about the Managent structure in RM.
I have only been with RM for 10 years and no matter what every year Xmas catches the Managers buy surprise !
