You only have to work your contracted hours each day, you can choose to do o/t that will make Xmas Eve a 9 hour day, you can choose to agree to flex... But neither can be enforced upon you against your will.

Where do you get only 3 days to deliver D2D? Saturdays have been a standard D2D delivery day for some time, despite some seasoned posties being stuck in the old ways of doing things, when we were paid per D2D item and often made sure none were left for Saturday. We all have 4 days to deliver all live mail next week, which includes D2D, which means you should be aiming for ~25% per day delivered.

You should have a local agreement that covers Bank Holiday contingency arrangements for D2D.
It goes something like this...
If you only have 4 days to do them you do 25% per day and if you don't want to work over your time...you cut off.
It's quite simple really.
Exactly the onus is then on RM management

Why would you want managers doing our jobs?
I spend most of my life arguing that they shouldn't be touching our work to protect our jobs, and you want them to start prepping the D2D?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Totally agree, if there's too much work then it's up to the manager to sort it out.........not to do it for you.

Bingo! 4 days to do 100% D2D for a walk, regardless who is delivering the duty on any given day. If you have a single day off but then 2 days sick as the duty holder, you will only be responsible for delivering 25% on the one day of the four you work next week.

Your 'customers' are the ones who pay RM for the mail to be delivered. D2D may be crap, as are the contents of many of the letters and magazines we deliver, but it keeps us in jobs!
