It isn't another office ossie you'll be the same office and the facilities are RMs - why are they moving in and how far are they moving from and how many does it mean are moving in? As for the bike - it actually belongs to RM.
Its a nearby office which is about 2 miles away then it will be one office! then the posties have to bring the packets/reggies etc back to the office I'm in and then they have to be transported back to the old office for window collection have you heard anything so daft.

We have all just been told as well IF you have a licence and you won't drive for RM you could be shipped off to another office, can they really do this?

Better read the less publicised elements of BT 2010 because there are situations whereby that could happen. The problem is ossie that this "modernisation" plan has taken so long that the original agreement has been largely forgotten by those who have waited two years and more to actually implement it - so a re-read could be the order of the day. Mind you they are still ironing out some of the problems so by the time you've read it there'll be more amendments - shame for those who have already gone through it though.

I think the wording was .....if you currently drive for RM and then refuse for Park and Loop they could move you to another office.
They would only need to do that if you had insufficient drivers and needed to import drivers from neighbouring offices.
I can't remember which document it was in ..........
And of course a lot of newbies have driving as part of their contract.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

As a last resort and within certain limits yes they can. Hopefully though it would be relatively rare and would be sorted by the Union before reaching that stage.

I remember something similar to - other work will be found in the office - ie hct, non driver etc. They tried this in our office, we contested it, we won. Look out for them pressuring new starters and saying they signed up for "possible driving" in the new contracts thats BS as well.

Q. What if an individual is unable to drive i.e. no driving licence or cannot drive for health reasons?

A. If there are employees in your unit that are unable to drive you will need to consider what other duty options are available. You may need to accommodate these employees on shared routes as a planned non driver. (There is a limit to the number of non drivers you can accommodate on shared deliveries. It is, therefore, recommended that this is not an option to employees that can drive but choose not to.) You should explore what other opportunities there are to accommodate the individual within your office. If individuals cannot be accommodated in your office, you may be able to accommodate them via a move to another unit within a reasonable distance, where suitable work is available. Where this is not possible an employee may effectively become surplus and in this instance you should take advice from your Regional ER/IR Manager.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Well ron, once you've applied the current rules at the time of your revision, you cannot put the clock back and apply the new rules.

Well I can't imagine there would be much sympathy for someone who can drive and won't so I think the exhaustion would soon be reached don't you?

Yes, see what you saying. Shame i have a problem with a little bit, i was sold these rules and conditions not only by RM but by our own side as well. I do continue to fight these rules though as they change, i dont see why we should be fkd over because our timetable said we should go through this befor others.

Incidently i try not to think of the fact we were told our area reps direct office was set to go through this 2 weeks before us but still hasnt. I wonder what he knew and never passed on, or is that just cynical?

:chuckle I think it's just cynicism ron. Fair play to keep the fight going but with the setup as it is with RM and CWU it really is :arrrghhh
