There are 2 things that really embarrass me about Britain:
1. The public school system.
2. The hereditary monarchy.

Neither of them as any place in the 21st century.
So to Cromwell and Wat Tyler, let's add.......Richard Brandon.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I'm with you on that one, I resent people suggesting its unpatriotic to be anti royal,
or in my case ambivalent about them..

we started the industrial revolution, invented just about everything steam powered ,thanks in part to Scottish engineers
have one of the worlds oldest democracy's, banned slavery 50 years before the United States etc.

Britain has got a history to proud off that doesnt depend on select bloodlines.
and if our leaders were not minor aristocrats educated at public schools they would be a bit more in touch.
