I think Jack's point is that it shouldn't have to be this way and he's right.
This job is turning into a daily battle and one way or another members will lose their job over it,whether through stress or just dropping a manager.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

I felt the same everyday argueing with managers until my rep told me to tell the manager to put it in writing.
Guess what?? Manager asks ME now where we are cutting off today :dance

We started Park & Loop last week, 1st day we were an hour over our time, 2nd day we were 30 mins over on a Tuesday we highlighted the issues we had to the planner who apparantly used to be a postman  on the 3rd day we said to the assortment of managers brought in from offices 30 and 40 miles away that we weren't going to get round our round and we said we were leaving in bags he said oh you can leave 2 loops then he said I take all your big packets, tracked and specialsm, I've saved you an hour take the 2 loops. The planner told me to time the loops on the 3rd day I didn't have time but we ended up finishing at 4pm after we dropped of the bags and the van. So we said to the manager and the planner again about our issue he asked if I had timed the loops I said no so on the 4th day we got pummeled and didn't start till 40 late, I timed there loops and lo and behold loops 30 mins longer than their times. I gave them the times on Friday my park and loop partner was off I was out and 1hr 30min past my finish again. I have been fair with the large packets, tracked and packets and specials if he can take them he does as I'm the driver and it's to keep us as close as possible at all times his walk has 5 loops mine has 11, I seen the amazing job the planners did in Dundee East with a office full of mail and packets.

I heard this... if park and loop is failing .they will throw extra resources at it for a week or so.
managers are drafted in opg's are borrowed from nearby offices.
Theory is if they can make it at least appear that its working for a week or so and
that then it will continue smoothly after they all go ?
stems from belief that we are all faking our inability to do whats asked.

Only relating experiences from my county. :Very Happy
sounds like they are determined to make this work! extra managers for 4 weeks now !
as you say ,the bigger the office the higher the stakes for an embarrassing failure.

obscurityknocks i just dont think when they made up these dutys that they even considered the extra time that specials, tracked items and large parcels adds to the time. Even on the easiest day of the week a tuesday missing out alot of doors the duty took 4 hours one day when i was off it took the guy 5 hours 15 mins these planners are clueless they are just chancing it to see how much they can get its beyond a joke.

Once the revision has gone in you can't go back to using bags on the shoulder. Trolleys are mandatory. Typical f**king manager and s**t planning.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

You've got me wrong DVDBUK55 Who decides what the delivery method is? The corrupt planner who marks"pouch" for most of your loops (because they know trolleys slow you down) Then they mark down a token "LWT" for a high rise flat.Or the postman that ignores the recommended method ;). I meant, It's up to you to use the "LWT" as much a possible.Even if that means the postman re plans the whole duty to accommodate it.

Your rep should be taking a look at that. The agreement was weight off the shoulder and trolleys should be used whenever practicable. If pouches are still being used that is wrong - the new plan indicated that each loop should be 40 minutes therefore using pouches would indicate that either there are too many loops with reduced bag weights or the bags are overweight.
