It's not a payment for prepping and delivering D2Ds.
if thats the case then why are people who stay indoors allday getting a delivery supplement?? they can say what they ant but that payment is for door to doors! simple! it can be called what you like but only an idiot wud think its for anything other than d2drs! & the way its payed out is nothing short of a disgrace. :shhhhh

well how does your post make sense?
its a payment for D2Ds but people who dont do any get the same payment?

The delivery supplement is a combination of what was in the early shift payments and what was generated from door to door. The CWU made it into a permanent addtion to basic pay which has already gone up once with last years pay deal.

If a part timer did not get it pro rata you would have part timers on a higher hourly rate than full timers which would not be acceptable.

I can't believe I am reading this thread 18 months after the introduction of BT2010.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

As clash says - I think I have explained this loads of times and it keeps coming up.

Simple Facts

NO ONE GETS PAID FOR D2Ds - NO ONE>

MAIL CENTRES DO NOT GET A DELIVERY SUPPLEMENT - They have their own AFAIK its pro rata and is £8

D2D Payments and Early Shift Payments 1 & 2 (which Part Timers rarely if ever got) - were withdrawn.

The Monies that paid D2D and ESA now go to pay the Delivery Supplement.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Also all this stuff about PTimers loosing out more - its wrong IMHO

We also lost - D2D payments of say an average of £30 (for 600 Dps) - if a 30hr PT gets £15 - that means they lost £15 door to door money on average

A FT lost the £30 D2D money but got a delivery supplement of £20.60 = a Loss of £9.40 - but wait for it - we also lost £12.37 Network 2007 Pay protection) a total of £21.77 against a PTimers loss of £15. Added together FTimers actually came out of this particular scenario slightly worse than PTs, but the hit is less because of the gross pay.

Now can we discuss something more rational.

So it wasn't a question of winners and losers but more losers and losers - wow what a great deal and to cap it all we lost the £1200 Colleague Share money too...................it just gets better.............but wait, there's more: it looks like the 3.5% could also be revisited too.

doorstepped wrote:what I don't agree with is getting paid pro-rata for d2d's

I deliver just as many as a full timer and I am on 25 hours a week, I get 12.68 they get 20.50!!!

Why?

The CWU agreed to this stupid way of paying it, so why can't they see that a PT employee gets what is fairly theirs, or should I just deliver the d2d's pro-rata and only deliver 62.5% of them?
Hang on a minute

Until the delivery supement came in we used to get an ESA early shift allowance of £12 odd for starting between 5-6am

The pt ers didn't get this as they started later

The ESA was then plonked in with the delivery supplement of £8 odd giving us £20.50

So why does a pt er get £12.68?? That's not fair as they start later than us.

As it stands pt ers are better off than us who used to get esA by over £4 a week!!

At least get your facts right before posting drivel!!

D2d are part of workload now which we don't get paid for

If you work on wallington system which is one week off every six weeks plus 4 weeks annual leave so that is 13 weeks free money and it also helps to balance the book better due to consistency in pay, and some weeks you might get none doors to doors stuf. But it is not good when you lose out as you have deliver say 4 lots for 600 homes. If you are a full timer it can be good earner. For part timer it is not good thing due to pro rata. There are winners and losers in this deal.

Interesting, so even though I am technically out delivering the same amount of hours as a FT I don't get paid as much as they do. Maybe they should change the name to a hourly supplement, as delivery supplement does not make sense, and sounds very unfair to PT workers such as myself.

its a delivery office supplement, the supplement is for people who work in a delivery office supplement and the amount you get is determined on the hours you work, not just the hours you are contracted to, if you do a couple of hours over and above you contracted hours then you get extra delivery office supplement up to the max for 40hrs(or 39 after revision)

I believe you are wrong on that
Nah he's right.

It doesn't appear on your payslip as extra delivery supplement but as an increased hourly rate for the overtime.
