I'm not a big fan of managers but today i phoned and said i';d not complete (was sent to another office) and my manager and the manager of the office i was sent were going to complete the delivery. I know this cause they spoke to me. So not all managers are lazy.rockypostie wrote:Problem is managers never deliver it and it gets left and ppl just think I'm tight for not doing it.hate my office

Re: cutting off
They can make you deliver up to 8 hours a day just as long as you've a van, at least that's what we've been told (over and over and over again), 5 hours 15 minutes is the usual delivery time for my duty.dayjur wrote:We (me and p+l partner) cut off most days so manager and union rep decided to test my walk today.
Managed to complete one and third off two walks.
Union rep mentioned about prep assisstance and get us out early to complete our duties.
Can RM make you do 5hr delivery ?
Thought delivery span was 4hr 10min using LWT, can anyone give me any information on
delivery span and H&S regarding fatigue.
Thanks in advance.

Re: cutting off
I didn`t cut off previously but now I will. I always felt a sense of responsibility to people on my route, combine that with bullying and intimidation everytime I told a manager I couldn`t finish in my time. Also being possibly one of the very few rurals who will leave mail led to feeling isolated. I`ve had enough of my managers blatant lies, threats and dismissive attitude. I know they can make up charges and make them stick, but enough is enough.

Re: cutting off
b) When an individual has requested assistance on delivery, but the manager feels that assistance is not required, this decision along with the advice given to the employee will be recorded and associated with the daily traffic volume records. The employee can have access to this record and may ask to see it prior to commencement of his/her delivery.jockstrapp wrote:Went to manager to ask for help to complete my duty......................s**t hit the fan...........
Was the s**t hitting the fan duly recorded and do you have access to that record?
It might come in handy...

Re: cutting off
loads of cut offs everyday at our office fish, most goes out next day. managers love it and never look bothered when its brought backfishtank wrote:Why should it affect the guy who is on it the next day?rockypostie wrote:if anything I get abuse from other postmen for shafting the bloke who is on it the next day.really makes me angry as most ppl book ot,so its not a case of me being crap, just a case I don't want to go over my time.
If you cut off...your cut off should be delivered that day.
If it isn't...it's a failure...if they are making no attempt to get it delivered it should be flagged up and your manager should be in the deepest of deep s**t.
If they try and fail to get it delivered then the next guy just has more to cut off.
Nobody is shafted.

Dayjur, your rep is pulling a fast one, prep assistance my arse.
Many a time some of our guys have had cut offs pre prepped and management try to get us out early,we have agreed 4hr walks and that's it.
Yous lot should be the same as well.
Not my place, but then i'd guess you know that, whatever the revisions pushes out for deliver span it's what we do,no more. They can make you deliver up to 8 hours a day just as long as you've a van,

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Re: cutting off
The agreement does state that van/rural deliveries can take the whole day, tbh we don't agree to it but have them imposed by EA as you well know (and don't go on about the gate, we couldn't even get the union to organise the strike properly).POSTMAN wrote:Dayjur, your rep is pulling a fast one, prep assistance my arse.
