If I get the job on Thursday, I'll be a F/T Walking Postman, so probably be staring at 6:00am. I thought later, meaning like 8:00 for F/T.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Depends on duty but I am a Full Time Walking Postman and start at 5.00 finish at 13:15MartinMail wrote:What time do most postmen/women start these days? including 14.15 finish on saturdays aswell...our boss is already shoehorning the later starts by not letting anybody out of the office until 9.30.these bosses they wouldnt get away with it any where else, they just want to get rid of as many posties as they can without paying them off.forcing people out the door, what kind of people are trying to run this firm.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Depends on duty but I am a Full Time Walking Postman and start at 5.00 finish at 13:15MartinMail wrote:What time do most postmen/women start these days? been trying to figure that one out myself.postie28 wrote:They are advertising a full time post.
Had the same argument myself just today about part time apropos full time and got the "it is RM policy NOT to employ full time staff so the Manager has to have what he gets" - I haven't seen a full timer here for 3 years. The most a contract has been is 30.5 hours but the majority are 25 hours. Some work 2 x 10 hour shifts and 1 x 5 over 3 days.

a delivery office , the year 2015.
"ive got 12 bags today, then im covering steve who has gone sick, for nothing, also i have 10 households to put together but its ok i dont get paid for any of them".
South East Postie,a few years ago now I used to work for one of the big supermarkets and your "delivery office 2015" sounds exactly like the culture that prevailed there.
It is no coincidence that Leighton having come from Asda would like us to become like Asda workers very soon.
There is no room for complacency we must fight to hold onto what we've got.
