Yes then we can withdraw our labour and go on strike, losing lots of money in the process only to then watch tweedle dumb and tweedle dee agree to postpone further strike action til after Christmas. Letting RM management off the hook just when we had them by the danglies, like they did last time! :arrrghhh
True
we could show some spirit and fight for our terms and conditions.
or we could just bury our heads in the sand, accept that we are not going to get a pay rise, doff our cap to the big boss and just get on with it.
better to fight and lose, than not fight at all.
I did say that the Union leaders were weak but that's no reason to just give up and accept everything RM force on us.

More holes than a teabag.
I have heard that the new business plan has budgeted for 3.5%.
So despite RPI being almost twice the expected range....we are unlikely to see any more.
They might up the Christmas bonus for next year though. :cuppa
We should be used to the jam tomorrow scenario we've been eating dry bread long enough

what we need, ahead of April, is an attacking left-winger.

I think Arshavin is a more realistic target. He isn't getting much playing time at Arsenal. He might be interested.

As we speak I'll bet the back room boys are already drafting the let down spiel as to why the 3.5% is unattainable this year................or next.

Joking aside, look at what the Tube union's leader did.

He saw that the London 2012 Olympics were fast approaching, and how strong a negotiating position that put him in. There was no way the government could afford to have the tube plagued by strike action when the eyes of the world were going to be on London next year, and Bob Crow got the tube boys an excellent pay deal.

Contrast that with our weak leadership, who had Royal Mail by the balls in the run-up to Christmas 2009 and, instead of pressing home our advantage, chose to call off the strike action.

We are lions, led by donkeys

footnote: Since he became leader, RMT's membership increased from around 57,000 in 2002 to more than 80,000 in 2008, making it one of Britain's fastest growing trade unions

He has a degree in Fashion Design and has "written" 3 books.

"If I had it in my power to introduce a ban on women driving cars and to withdraw all their licences, I would do it without thinking twice,
A.Arshavin"

That may give us a problem with park&loop but the uniform will be pretty.

if when we find out there is no wage increase for next year and royal mail break
the agreement again then it is time for the staff to go unoffical forget the union at
headquaters they will waste time in talking till december.then offer us another deal
with 300 pages to read and tell us its the best offer.
i know staff will be told if you walk into unoffical action know one will back us but it
is time our union and management start to understand and listern to the royal mail workforce
if no pay increase then no more talks on revisions also all areas should now bring in overtime
bans, with any talks about xmas to end and a work to rule must be in by the end of november.

it could be just to see how far they can push us over the paydeal but there are
plenty of staff on the brink of going over the top now.
