drb wrote:OK lets look at at it mathematically(?) :

Saturday = 8 hours,(not 6),you absorb Mon - Fri,( If you dare, remember absorption is work to your time)
Indoor absorption, (looks like this is the way rather then outdoor as you cannot "outdoor" without your cars)
Tuesdays = All B.R. work,missorts.town corner.and ALL deads clear.
Walk sequencing is s**t,as admitted by senior management,(as in not very much time saved as your waves are stupidly late).
Oh yes! Everyone has their meal relief! The IWT tool should reflect this!
I don't understand any of this.
Why do you not absorb on Saturday? How do you indoor absorb if everyone is FT?
Why can't you outdoor absorb without a car?
Shouldn't all BR work, missorts and dead letters be clear every day, not just Tuesday?
If your waves are stupidly late, what is the start time and what time is the meal relief? And you still have to do a 4hr 15 delivery and be finished (last letter) for 3pm?

My hunch is this looks good on paper but not being a betting man :Very Happy , it'll go tits up because the walks will be too long in practice and we'll all be reading about wolverhampton in the local rag (on this site) failing to complete duties etc and mountains of mail still to be delivered. Sorry about painting a picture of gloom :arrrghhh

Good Luck to the Wolves Posties who managed to get FT contracts, however they managed to get them! :Applause I'd love to be able to get a piece of paper with 39 hours printed on it. :pray I've been comparing the indoor v outdoor hours I've worked over the last couple of years...It's no wonder I feel knackered at the end of the week! I am certainly working harder for less money than I've ever done before! :Boo hoo!

Royal Mail have to be made aware that there's a Hell of a difference between the "Old" 4 hours indoors and 4 hours outdoors Typical Day..... compared to the "New" Delivery Only 6 hours delivery, which I believe they can get away with on the Hybrid duties. :Boo hoo!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Sorry peeps, cant be evrywhere at once, but am online rest of evening to answer any questions I can, have been speaking to the reps today to try and get as much info for you as possible.

This is the main office in Wolvo and yes there are 246 posties working here.

Apart from a couple of jobshares everyone, yes everyone has been made upto 36 hrs and over.

Department of work an pensions classes everyone over 35 hrs as full time, hence the title.

How many of the 246 posties were p/t before the revision?
Were there many vacancies?
What model week are they using? The "idea" is you use a low model week and flex up. If everyone is (virtually) full time there can't be much flexing up.
Has a lot of Scheduled Attendance been removed?
What is the current office EP and what is expected to be in the next 2 years? What Bsi has been used?

Will try best to answer clash, there may be a delay or two whilst I sms people who know.

Office had 48% Full time before revision.

Week 17 apparantly

SA available on one of 10 hybrid duties

No more packet drivers, all rounds take oversize packets.

The bottom line is...where are all those extra hours coming from?
Roughly 120 members increased from part-time to full-time would cost somewhere in the region of 750-1000hrs/week.
Regional Finance Directors are knocking back savings neutral revisions so they are hardly going to OK an outlay like that.
The only way to offset that would be a reduction in full-time equivalent headcount of around 20 members.
Are the increased contracts permanent or temporary until the revision beds in?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

If the DWP class 35 hours as full time, why are Royal Mail allowed to get away with only paying part timers pro rata revision bonuses based on 40 hours.

Sorry mate obviously cant get every bit of info into every post as this thing has taken ages to go through.

Many of our Ptimers were on 33 hrs already ,so only a 3 or 6 hr increase for them.

Your right on about the hours the finance peeps wanted, they wanted 1100 but had to settle for 400 as that is what IWT said.

Yes there has been a reduction of about 20 peeps, drivers and 5 or 6 vacancies, plus a small number of vrs.

Contracts are permanent

It might be true might not, the options don't allow for this to happen but am all ears maybe RM decided there going to throw money at revisions to make them work.
