It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I suppose it's useful for other folk, those that don't use their computers very much, to know that potential shite is flying about. The message itself is rubbish and anyone who goes along to a DO for a packet must be a bit naive. BUT, just you open one of these attachments and see what happens. Obviously, the attachments are designed to carry viruses, and, at worst, you could end up with a system rebuild to get rid of it.BELIAL wrote:Couldn't give a s**t ,who cares?
So, I care. I think it's best to know and RoyalMailChat is the best way of letting other folks know.

Jess, i think you'll find that you don't have to open the attachment to infect your pc. Just by opening the email could be enough for the virus to have access to your address book, and then to continue the chain. I would suggest that the next time you suspect you have recieved one of these scam emails that you mark it as spam before opening it, delete it, and then go to your bin and delete it forever. This is the only way to protect your pc if your security filters have already allowed it through.Jess wrote:I suppose it's useful for other folk, those that don't use their computers very much, to know that potential shite is flying about. But you're right to be concerned.

Pinky, I've had a look at the source code of this email, and there's nothing funny in the main part of the email, the HTML is OK. The zip file attached is another matter - that's the one I wouldn't touch. Obviously, deleting it is now the best solution to avoid any accidents.Pinky 1 wrote: Jess, i think you'll find that you don't have to open the attachment to infect your pc. I received 2 Parcelforce ones today with a dodgy attachment...
Dear customer.
A courier did not deliver the package to your address.
Reason: Your address is in the stop-list of the delivery
Information about your package is attached to the letter.
Read all information carefully and come to the "Parcelforce Service" office to receive your package.
Thank you.
