Re: gross misconduct
thanks guys for taking the time to reply, it was the line manager (acting dom) who issued my suspension - ghost overtime happens all the time in my office people doing splits paid til say 3-4 oclock yet finishing on their duty time at 1.30....i myself have done this and it has never been queried yet apparently its different coz i signed in at another office whilst in duty time, no one from their office queried how i was able to finish so early or told me that it wasnt allowed - i explained this to the acting dom and his words were 'i dont believe u didnt know it was wrong to claim ot whilst in duty time' - but dsm or whoever holds the upcoming meeting i find it unlikely they'll see my point of view...i think perhaps this is just an excuse to get me out the door.

Re: gross misconduct
of course you didnt think it was wrong. how else can assistant dom explain its ok for people to book til 3 or 4 o,clock when they,ve finished their own duty AND overtime by their normal duty finish time of 13.30. how the hell can he justify paying someone an hour and a half/two and a half hours overtime if its all done in a duty time. if he can allow this, then it MUST be ok. otherwise everyone who has done this in your office should be in the same boat as you. MAKE F***ING SURE you point this out at your interview. get that c*** into bother if needs be, tell the rep everthing. sorry mate but them barstools make my blood fekkn BOIL.

Re: gross misconduct
When the main office send a spare out to my little office its usually the case that the spare rushes round like mad so he can get back to town asap to do o/t (another round).
Also - Isn`t signing on mandatory when you start work in any office (whether its the 1st or 2nd office in a day ) ?

Re: gross misconduct
royal mail are looking for any reason to sack people at the moment.
doesnt suprise me that they would stoop so low although from a union point of veiw you should have turned up at the end of your duty not during it.....thats another matter.
