Verifiable evidence.
Signed witness statements.
Colleagues who will support you and back up your complaint.
Female members of staff who feel they have been sexually harassed and are willing to make a formal complaint.
Preparation is everything. You don't go into this half-assed.

Interesting as I have found some 'Directors' who are registered as Directors with there own companies. Under RM Business Standards this has to be declared. I wonder if this is the case ?

Yes they have a specific page which announces their directorships and share transactions.

My partner broke her leg while changing a wheel in work, manager said don't say it happened in work. The first aider wouldn't put a report in .Royal mail works on a closed shop and the post person hasn't got a chance. The health and safety group should expose royal mail for breaking the law.

Royal Mail cancelled this service on 1st April 2021!
I emailed expolink after not being able to get on and that is what they told me.
Is there a new service as I can't find anything at the mo?

I'll contact justsayit and see what they say.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Welcome to the Royal Mail Speak Up helpline. We encourage you to report any genuine concerns you have which you feel uncomfortable about raising with a manager or cannot be reported via another process. When you make a report, the system will generate a case ID and a password. This allows you to access feedback on your concern or provide more details. This is the only way we can contact you if you opt to remain anonymous. Please make sure you securely record the case ID and password.

Celebrate World Whistleblowers day!

World Whistleblowers Day is held on 23 June every year to raise public awareness about the important role of individuals who speak up about corruption and wrongdoing. By speaking up, you can improve the working life of the people around you. For people to feel safe speaking up, a company needs to have the right culture.

To mark this World Whistleblowers day, here are 6 facts you (probably) didn’t know about Speak Up at RMG in 2020-21!

1. We received 410 reports to the Speak Up helpline. Each report is a potential opportunity to improve things, so we want to hear from you

2. 77% of reports were anonymous, which may indicate a fear of retaliation. RMG does not tolerate any retaliation whatsoever against people reporting genuine concerns but if we don’t know about it, we can’t do anything about it, so please report any retaliation to the Speak Up helpline

3. 96% of all reports were made by operational colleagues. It’s great that our operational colleagues are using the helpline, but it can be used to report any sort of concern about any part of the business

4. Last year saw a big increase in reports about racism, sexism and LGBT issues, although the number of reports overall is low. It takes courage to make this kind of report but by calling out inappropriate behaviour, we have an opportunity to stop it

5. 21% of all reports could be dealt with under a more appropriate internal process (e.g. the grievance or bulling and harassment processes). If this is the case, your report will be referred to the appropriate channel

6. 20% of reports were fully or partially upheld. Although this may sound quite low, cases may not be investigated due to having already been investigated or a lack of evidence, for example. Each report received is reviewed carefully, taken seriously and treated fairly so if you’re concerned about something, do speak up

Speaking up is an important way of changing things for the better in RMG. To help create the right culture at RMG there have been a number of materials created specifically for this on Compliance & Ethics Guidance Hub or you can speak to Group Compliance & Ethics for support. Raising concerns and speaking up with confidence are the pillars of a successful, trustworthy business and working environment.

Speak Up is a weird set up if your complaint is regarding a manager. I've had experience of this and I've spoken to three other posties who have done the same. You report an issue and give details online. Nothing will happen for a month, then you ask for an update. All of a sudden you can't log into your portal page, so they say you'll have to re-report it. You wait another month, they tell you it's been investigated and no wrongdoing was found and we can't give you any more details. Then watch your back because the local managers will find out that its you who has spoken. Its basically Royal Mail management investigating Royal Mail management, the same as with a conduct case or an appeal. It's a tight team.
