How does anyone expect us to stand together nationally when there is no solidarity in the offices i.e. Full time/part time. We are being shafted on a daily basis by the ones who come in early, run round when covering other peoples walks and telling managers it can easily be done, those that dont book overtime , they are giving RM free time everyday, just so they look good, using their cars etc.etc So until we ALL get our act together locally, we have no chance of being taken seriously as a united front regardless of where we live in the country. I cant ever see things changing as it has become "Im alright so I will do as i like! :so there

Ahh ! The North South divide is being discussed.

Maybe something can be cleared up for me... it's this.. When I speak to my manager and ask him just where exactly is the mail volumes down and also why are we not getting the increase in D2D payments that the three monthly meetings between ACAS Royal Mail and the CWU were soposed to discuss, his answer is that we are currently carrying six D2Ds a week but up north the situation is the same as it was ie none delivered as per the map we were shown whilst the Yes vote was being pushed ,that clearly showed that D2Ds are not being delivered in huge swathes of the country north of the Watford Gap.
I am also reliably infromed that mail levels are indeed down up north compared with us in the south east.

Now my question is would it be a good idea to move up north and get paid the same wage but not to have the hassle of D2Ds and a much lighter round?.

Answers on a brick through my window i expect.

The problem is that the map with vast areas in black that were not delivering D2Ds were shown to us at a meeting in London organised by the CWU.

If we can suppose it was true then, is it still true now?,if so then I will be looking for a transfer.

This is the actual map of the popularity of D2D contracts based on average number of items per walk across each postcode area.
As you can see there are not huge swathes of the country north of the Watford gap not doing D2D.
In fact most of Greater London and the North of England share roughly the same popularity.

I guess the old management propaganda machine works both ways. :cuppa

Hmm, if we are really delivering that many D2Ds why has the payment not gone up?, that map is showing a much better take up rate of D2Ds than the map I saw all that while ago.

Have to be honest never heard that we would get an increase in the Delivery Supplement - except with pay rises and it did go up this year.

joint monitoring and review and will also be discussed and agreed with the CWU nationally at the quarterly review meetings with a view to capturing any viable opportunities for the mutual benefit of Royal Mail and its employees and to also deal with any workload issues.
About as reliable as "Overarching Objective". :cuppa
