I couldn't really say what I do when I'm really bored................but it doesn't involve mail or buzzers.clashcityrocker wrote:The D2D World Cup is a non-starter.
Either both "teams" would be getting D2D that day and so it would be a high scoring draw. Or one of the teams would be getting D2D and the other team not, Or neither would be getting D2D so 0-0.
The D2D World Cup is a stupid idea.
Sometimes when I'm really bored I play left buzzers against right buzzers on the blocks of flats.

It could be just like the real world cup.
Different post code sections (who get different amount of D2D's usually) against each other.
It will work,it does work.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: The Mail FA Cup 2011
Here then is the new idea:
Buddy Tray cricket.
Imagine the tray is for G72 walks 1 and 2.
Say the first 4 letters are for G72/1 - they score 4 runs.
The next 6 are for G72/2 - they score 6 runs.
Simple enough so far..............
But then if there is a missort that counts as a wicket down.
So if the tray had gone G72/1 - 4 letters and then a letter for Ware, Herts that would be 4 for 1.
You could play with yourself or you could match the score for one half of your buddy tray with one half of a colleagues buddy tray.

Re: The Mail FA Cup 2011
Can i get the rules straight please for buddy tray cricket. So, i get my first tray and i match up tq12 1 against tq12 2. Do i ignore tq12 3 etc? Right then, tq12 1 go into bat and i count these postcodes until i come across a missort. Every tq12 1 letter is a run then the missort crops up which means a wicket goes down yeh? 10 missorts ends the innings then tq12 2 bats. Can i have all forms of cricket. One day, test and 20/20? This could be the start of something special. Wait til i ring the wife and kids, they may want me back when i tell them of my new hobby and friends. I can call you all my friends cant i? Its just that i havent got any down here since i started mail fa cup football. They all say they are busy.
