Re: MAN HANDLED BY THE MANAGER
police, without a doubt. a manager has no right whatsoever to be manhandling staff. im sorry but this "put a grievance" bs seems to be just that....bs. its the same as the "have your say" forms, expect nothing to change/be done, because it wont.....fishtank wrote:...and your advice is....internetguy wrote:and everything will be sorted.....hotfudge wrote:slap in a grievance

Re: MAN HANDLED BY THE MANAGER
If i was not happy about what happened i would put in a grievance with the help of my rep. The witness statement is important though so get that in writing and signed asap. Report it to the police
for me i would not.

Re: MAN HANDLED BY THE MANAGER
Clearly your manager should not grab you or touch you in any way.
Does your manager behave like this with other people or was this a one-off?
Clearly your manager is very stressed. Is this work related stress or are there things going on in his life outside work.
If he was man enough to apologise, I would be "man" enough to accept it. (But I'd keep it in my locker)
If he isn't.................then what follows, follows.
Assault, assault and battery whatever. If he can't control his temper he shouldn't be in the workplace.

Re: MAN HANDLED BY THE MANAGER
thing is though bro, had it been the other way round, im pretty sure a manager wouldnt hesitate in doing the same. you would have the feds breathing down your neck as well as been out on your arse in a flash. each to their own though....krussel wrote:If i was not happy about what happened i would put in a grievance with the help of my rep. Re: MAN HANDLED BY THE MANAGER
Yeah i can see that, it just depends how deep you want to get involved. Certainly the manager has over reacted badly or a bully and needs to wind his neck in big time and it should be reported. However "for me" to take it outside and involve the police would have involved a punch or push to the floor. But thats just me (and it did not happen to me) and everyone feels different. Either way something should be done so he wont do it again.internetguy wrote:thing is though bro, had it been the other way round, im pretty sure a manager wouldnt hesitate in doing the same. you would have the feds breathing down your neck as well as been out on your arse in a flash. each to their own though....krussel wrote:If i was not happy about what happened i would put in a grievance with the help of my rep. Re: MAN HANDLED BY THE MANAGER
I dont realy agree with putting in a complaint to the police as they would probably do very little. But on the Royal mail side if you have the witness then i would put in a grievance and a B&H form and take it as far as you can as that kind of behaviour is blatantly out of order!
good luck with whatever you decide to do, no one should have to put up with that kind of sh** at work no matter what you had supposedly done wrong!

Re: MAN HANDLED BY THE MANAGER
First and foremost, get down the docs, and get signed off sick with a bad neck(6 months should do
).
Then bang in a B&H, and watch from the comfort of your own home.
