Thanks tbt , I shall bear that in mind while trying to work out if I should vote yes or no.I may just abstain ,... but in that case actually my vote perhaps should be a no....God, it reminds me of the Euro referendum all those years back when people thought an abstention counted as a no vote.

For me thats the main reason to support AV, voters are more likely to vote for the party they think best fits their philosophy, rather than use it to try and keep another party out.
Is there any system that keeps out the Tories, Labour and Liberals, or are they all like domestos and only kill 99% of all germs?

Yes old Che had the best system which I am sure could be adopted and adapted for use in the UK, along with 8g of lead and copper :whistle

Scottish parliament is not much better, there is no clear strong Government.

I rather have stable Government however bad over a weak cluster of a parliament at mercy of the smaller parties, inertia would the result when strong unpopular decisions is needed to made.
Well on channel 4 the BNP Deputy leader disagreed with you - He said and I quote:
BNP Deputy Chairman Simon Darby said this:

"We are never going to get our feet under the table under the AV system."

I disagree, Minority parties have a lot to gain from AV, like it or not, FPTP system do provide a stable Government, there are rare circumstances of Coalitions, such 1915-1916, 1931-1935, 1963-1964 from what I can recall, which under AV will be common and leads to back door dealing just like Ireland and others like Scottish Parliament, Belgium, Greece, Israel etc, none of them have managed to provide stable and long term direction of Governance, instead all effort was devoted to the next election which could be as much as next year.

The Market don't like instability which would be bad for our economy , if our Credit rating is dropped to AAB, while not quite as bad as Greece, its no better than a third rate European Country, at present we are AAA which is better then Ireland which has their Bond relegated to junk, USA is at loggerhead with a locked Congress which is causing federal shutdown and the threat of their coveted AAA being relegated to AAA- a short step from AAB which would be a bad for USA.

So in short Strong Government and Strong Economy goes hand in hand.

If we all vote yes to AV, there is more chance of the cracks in this coalition widening and the possibility of a General Election this year becomes a probability.
Let's try and have as many elections as is humanly possible while the separate payment for election material still exists.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

If the Torys win-- You know what your getting,
If Labour wins -- you know what your getting,
If the Lie-Dems get any of their candidates voted in-- YOU GET LIARS who say anything to get a vote THEN change their minds and policies as soon as they get power !

Vote cast (real ballot).
Praying the Lib Dems get a real hammering in AV vote & council elections.
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.
