Yes we do have concerns as the advice being given to managers regarding lump sums is not in line with the national agreement. The advice being provided by Royal Mail states that there must be an integrated revision which includes walk sequencing and methods to qualify for the £600 + £200, or that you must have done a Methods Revision to be able to qualify for a walk sequencing revision. This is simply not the case and I would suggest it is 'sharp practise'. I have raised this with Geoff previously when the North East were putting a similar 'interpretation' on what qualified people for the lump sums, particularly the £600 + £200. There can be no dubiety about what type of revision qualifies for the lump sums as the national agreement is very clear.

Shorter Working Week

To be implemented in all Delivery Units in line with the Walk Sequencing revision.

Lump Sums

The payment of £1,000 (pro rata) consisting of 3 lump sums will be paid as follows.

£200 will be paid to everyone in the Delivery unit on deployment of their first non Walk Sequencing revision.

£600 will be paid to everyone in the Delivery unit on deployment of the walk sequencing revision.

£200 will be paid to everyone in the Delivery unit when the walk sequencing revision has been implemented, and objectives achieved in line with the local agreement and no later than the end of the 6 week bedding in period.

You will note that there is no reference to Methods Revisions as they are covered in the first non sequencing revision. I would suggest that the advice is withdrawn immediately and the national agreement is applied as stated.

Hello Bob

Following your note I can confirm that we have now withdrawn this piece of guidance from our intranet site. I have also informed the C&D Programme Managers that this guidance has now been superseded.

As you know, we created the initial guidance in response to an internal strategy to deploy delivery methods either with or in advance of walk sequencing.

The Walk Sequencing programme has been running quite considerably in advance of the delivery methods rollout in some regions and decisions have been made to implement a revision which aligns to the new walk sequencing workload and workplan in advance of Delivery Methods.

Clearly, where this happens, the definitions originally outlined no longer apply, so we have withdrawn the guidance and advised the C&D community that the Agreement must be followed.

I hope you find this a satisfactory outcome.

Please let me know if you have any further concerns.

I would say yes as your info implies a walk sequncing revision is taken place so you are entitled to the £600+£200 no more than 6 weeks later. That also means the 39 hour week should be implemented.

A further revison at some point will get you the remaining £200

in our delivery office been doing this for 5 mths now changed start times , ws , dutys trolleys etc havent had a penny so i wouldnt hold your breathe for the money, union rep never been seen since.

When our D2D's were made part of the duty it was worked out that, because of the falling volumes of mail, we didn't actually need any extra prep time so it wasn't a 'non-sequenced revision' instead it was just classed as 'absorption'.

Could someone help clarify this for me,

our rep is not the brightest in the bunch and just goes along with everthing the magager says working together and all.

in our office we have been receiving WSM from October last year - told that this is not enough to trigger payment as not all of the mail coming into the office is walk sequenced.

then just recently they have started lapsing hours again and are basing these savings on what the IWT figures say (100 bsi), part-timers starting later doing delivery only, full timers doing double and even treble prepping, all doing extended deliveries even though we have not had a delivery methods revision and majority of runs are over 3.5 hour delivery spans town walks.Rurals all over time on a weekly basis and been told to take out parcels as we have no parcel duty.

If you's are lapsing and are then all having to work extended, you's are lapsing too much CUT OFF!

Your office sounds a little like ours trouble, but managers are doing what they want everywhere with no objections from the CWU. They just take all that RM throw out saying we have to work together and build new relationships.
It is all give and no take from RM's side we were all sold down the river.

Last week our office took action and said if we had no payment or heard from area management then we woud take action.

We did and everyone cut off, and lo and behold the adm or sector manager came scurring over with about 10 local dims to take out all the cut offs,
The next morning we had a meeting with area DEl rep and ADM which promised we would get payment next week but only 60 per cent so some are still cutting off, the ADM was sweating it.

From what you've written, it doesn't sound like you's have had a WSM revision.
We had sequenced mail coming in to our office prior to the 2010 agreement, we also had duties that were in the main longer than 3hr30min (in theory they were only 3hr30min) as again prior to the 2010 agreement a pegasus revision had been implamented in our office under Exacutive Action.
We also done lapsing as this is part of the 2007 P&M agreement, so long as you have time to do it!
So all the things you currently have we had pre-revision.

But again If you's are lapsing so much that most are claiming extended delivery.....your lapsing to much.....CUT OFF!!
You's are being asked/told to take all your packets....What happend to your packet duties???
Have they been removed? Are they being lapsed every day?
How is it even possable for you's to take all your packets if you's aren't doing Park and Loop, which you's appear not to be??

Because higher excutives cannot agree for the payment to be paid before the 15th april so a part payment can be paid our area cwu rep is looking into it, our dim was told that we would refer back to previous revision and do 3 and half hour delivery span instead of 4.10 now though I actually cut off most days towords the end of the week,
