You on drugs???
well said,.......AND from a mail centre worker. :Applause
I don't think he's on drug's :so there I think
he's completely "AFF HIS HEID"
Wiser folk locked up :arrrghhh good deal my a**e
Minimum of 1 in 4 saturdays off - compared to 1 in 6 nowadays and before that working every saturday
Taking weight of shoulders using vans - compared to 7/8 bags weighing up to 16k and having to keep it with you at all times
39 hour week - same wages for 1 hours less work a week,
d2d's - now part of live mail - can claim overtime for them and doing 1/6th a day helps on lighter days to fill time especially mon & tues.
£20 a week delivery supplement for 52 weeks a year.

Whats wrong with any of that? Like i say the WHOLE package wasnt bad but we aint getting the whole package
Well i have now worked indoors night shift for over 13 years,
so i have a relatively easy time of it compared to D/O staff
very little of your post applies to me.I don't have a 39hr week
yet. What the Whole Package gave me was a wage cut of around
£1200.per year due to Sunday night schedule (2hrs) being taken away
and replaced with me now working Fri. night :Boo hoo! but as i say folks on
delivery have a much harder time than i do and i appreciate that
but to say the overall package was good i'm sorry i can't agree :no no

If I may be so bold - first look at your points and yes it does look good - but if you were able to get hold of the full BT2010 (DOC No :no no ) then it, at least to me, was all smoke and mirrors and I have said so since.
celerycelery wrote:Minimum of 1 in 4 saturdays off - compared to 1 in 6 nowadays and before that working every saturday
But you had to accept later starts and Saturday becoming a normal working day (no leaving MS3 in etc)
celerycelery wrote:Taking weight of shoulders using vans - compared to 7/8 bags weighing up to 16k and having to keep it with you at all times
Ruined by no limit on the delivery span or as the CWU put it - making the delivery span an enabler :cuppa
celerycelery wrote:39 hour week - same wages for 1 hours less work a week,
but 3 rises all below both RPI and CPI and an "opportunity" for both sides to revisit the 3rd increase. Now who is going to complain the loudest when they are saying we are going broke. I don't think we'll see the 3.5% in 2012.
celerycelery wrote:d2d's - now part of live mail - can claim overtime for them and doing 1/6th a day helps on lighter days to fill time especially mon & tues.
You could claim before despite what managers said - that was an excuse many managers used - if they wanted them delivered and I was going into docket then they paid me. Also it was always part of live mail just like the different sorts of MS that had certain time periods for them to get delivered in, again managers used the D2D payment incorrectly to make people do them at home :speak to the hand or during their breaks. There is no practical difference except that we have more of them and my take home pay is less than before.

Under the old system - which you have to measure it against on an average week I am £20 down. The 52 weeks a year DS again is smoke and mirrors - they could have kept it under the pay per item method and still had D2Ds over 52 weeks I would have been better off.

Hope I have given you my opinion on what I think was wrong with those parts of the agreement you raised,

Our start times have changed over the last 7 years from 4.45am to 6.30am. A 1hr 45 min difference for no extra saturdays off. Its going to change by 15 or maybe 30 mins to give us 1 in 4 saturdays off.

So what if there is now no limit to a delivery span....you only work your hours your paid to do. If the new span takes you over your time you cut off and the problem is then the managers.

Plenty of public sector workers are getting pay freezes for the next 3 years. Ok our pay rise aint much and i agree that the last years rise will probably not happen but im happy to work an hour less for doing the same job.

Very true. Time for CWU to start flexing a bit of muscle. RM either stick to the agreement or we just carry on as 'normal'.

It's time CWU grew a set and started telling RM to play ball or get f****d.

Name one. just one public worker who is about to undergo a three year pay freeze, it is mistruths like this that make poor frightened workers tug their forlocks even harder.

Errm although i've posted other stuff about the pay rise,it's actually a 4 year deal as we never got one the other year.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Don't forget Leighton run RM from Canada.Yes he's been gone a while, but his legacy stays on.
I am sure it was pure coimcidence, that Moya came from Canada and Leighton had no influence on her appointment!!!!!

Fact Leighton's influence on all the big supermarkets and proably other industry is well documented.
