Re: Weight 'On' the shoulder
Can one of the regulars on here copy the bit from the agreement or LTB that says it is wrong to still carry a bag on shoulder. Spoke to the guy again to today and he says no-one can tell me how to do my delivery once I'm out the door its up to me how I do it. I want to convince him of the reasoning first before I get the DOM involved because people like him will ruin the job for the rest of us who want to do it properly.

Re: Weight 'On' the shoulder
I really cant understand anyone not wanting to use a trolley.
What is wrong with these people ?
Please dont be selfish on this one again
carrying the bag= longer duties and health problems
using the trolley = shorter duties and less health problems
i actually think the cwu may of played a blinder on this one,let me see one person doing the job right,
complete any of the duties that geo route has churned out.
No chance!
All the other problems mentioned here are for management to sort ie apartment blocks, old peoples homes, firms upstairs.
just use the trolley and bring back what isnt possible to deliver

Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond....page 23
The introduction of new delivery methods equipment will follow the agreed delivery revisions process and will need to take account of D2D.
Once assigned the use of equipment specified for the route will be mandatory.

Thanks FT I knew you wouldn't let me down. Jusy got to try and convince the numpty to look at this now, don't want to go to the DOM as it makes me look like a snitch but like I said in original post all I want is a fair and reasonable workload for all the guys in the office. Feels like a campaign in the offing...oh wait we did that and got this crock of s**t agreement. Nevermind people on fulltime release are touring the country with an inflatable postbox and enormous postcard again. Thats our subs well spent isn't it??????????????????????????

Re: Weight 'On' the shoulder
Working with someone that thinks carrying a bag that weighs 16kg or more is acceptable. I told my partner that the whole reason behind the new way of working whether its p&l or using a HCT is to take the weight of your shoulder. His reply was its quicker using a bag over your shoulder than using a trolley.
I don't think he understood what i just said by taking the WEIGHT OFF YOUR SHOULDER and not about whats the best tool for going faster. Just to point out that the partner used to be a flyer so he's getting frustrated that he's having to work all his hours now.

This could turn out to be the best agreement we've ever had judging by the new way we're going to work.
If only RM could accept that using a trolley will take more time then using a bag.
My guys are doing 4hr walks using a bag, most of you will be doing that with a trolley and chances are when the revisions get sorted properly you will be doing less work than what my lot are doing and no weight on your back, which has to be the best thing we could ever get.
How times change and how attitudes change as we read more into this deal.
Bring it on i say!
And WF has it spot on.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Weight 'On' the shoulder
neighbouring office has had p&l on for 3 weeks ,i could be wrong but im sure none of walks use trolleys or golf cart things .this is in an area with alot of tennements though.our revision is meant to come in end of jan/start of feb and i think only 2 out of 30/31 walks are golf cart designated with the rest bags on shoulder ,again high number of tennements. p.s have been told that these tennement walks cant excede 3.5 hours span

It's down to the reps at all levels to make sure they protect the members who are following the rules.clashcityrocker wrote:I wish that post wasn't so bloody accurate.gb93 wrote:It could be

And it's down to the managers to enforce the rules and if necessary the conduct code on those who don't.
If that happens there will be no need to pass the buck.

Re: Weight 'On' the shoulder
So should reps at local level be encouraging their managers to use the conduct code with CWU members who are not following the rules?fishtank wrote: It's down to the reps at all levels to make sure they protect the members who are following the rules.
And it's down to the managers to enforce the rules and if necessary the conduct code on those who don't.
How then do reps at local level represent their own members who continue to flout the rules?
