...because spillie...the law,and that's what it will come down to eventually if you have an accident..the law works on technicalities and possibilities not unfortunately growing a pair.spilie wrote:away and sh*te been waiting more than 3 weeks for both shoes and jacket so dont tell me i can now all of a sudden demand stuff, listen if i ask manager "do i have to go out on delivery?" and he says "yes but be careful" then simple his fault for any accidents that may happen, why do we always p*sh on about, well technically this and possibly that ffs grow a pair and stand up for yerself

naw the law works on facts fishtank, listen i get the great tech debate, all i am saying is if you ask for instruction and follow that instruction then not your fault technically or otherwise, on tuesday i asked manager "do we have to go out on delivery?" his reply "yes but be careful" now am no lawyer but just because he said be careful doesnt absolve any responsibility on his part
and the grow a pair was just my way of saying if you dont ask the akward questions then they will just say well technically.................. but hey as long as we are scared shitl*ss and just accept what we are told, then we deserve all we get

No it doesn't absolve him of all responsibility but when they tell you to use your own judgement to decide where is safe and where isn't it's not because they value that judgement is it?

What, you mean their dad's getting milk from the corner shop, rather than having delivered to their doorstep when their out at work?DGP1 wrote:99% of managers could've been avoided with the right protection

Bull s**t and for the life of me why would he say that!!richystran wrote:On the topic of spikeys (sorry for thread hijack) our dom said that they are not issued to drivers, just the walks! Is this the case, or are they only saying this as i know i could do with a pair, getting out of the van onto black ice is pritty risky!
Of course you are entitled to to them,if the walkers get them and you dont, you don't go anywhere.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
