Re: What are the main reasons for this revision?
From my point of view our self starter revison serves three purposes for CWU mbrs.
1) The release of the £200, as its no longer part of CS money the revison is the only way to get our money.
2) Attendance patterns, we are now going for 2 in 6 sats off with Sat PT staff
3) Increase in hours for 1 X 30 hour PT to 40 hour FT and increase of hours from 20 hour PT to 30 hour PT then hopefully moving up to 40 hours with housing growth.

D'you know something, I don't recall a "self starter revision" in the agreement. No, I remember the "Delivery Methods" Revision and the "WMS" Revision but the self starter?................delivery methods, well that's self explanatory, walk sequenced machines ....yep I get that too but self starter what does that mean?Big Daz wrote:From my point of view our self starter revison serves three purposes for CWU mbrs.

It means a table top revision with no planner. BT2010 did not actually specify what non sequenced mail revisons would entail, thus generating scope for divisional/area/local agreements when RML turned round and told the CWU that they did not have enough plannners to go around. If they had more planners we would be going through delivery methods as it has been planned for 2010 at my D.O for sometime, but now to the delight of the local mbrs has been delayed. Therefore as we are starting the transformation process by ourselves, rather than with the aid of a planner the revision has become called self starter by the higher ups in the CWU and RML.

Sounds like a scam to get £200 for sweet FA.

We are proposing to save around 140 hours.
3 duties are going
New attendance patterns are coming in
SA hours are going down
The number of PM collection routes is going down due to less demand for mail collection.
Hardly sweet F.A

You're right it is hardly sweet FA it IS sweet FA in comparison to the delivery methods revisions that are being carried out nationwide for the same princely sum of .....yep......you've guessed it £200...........................take a trip to the real RM and not some backwater in the middle of nowhere that probably hasn't changed in the last 40 years.Big Daz wrote:dvbuk55

Dvbuk you've confused me by sending mixed messages - you have a go at the CWU Nationally and at officials as is your just right, when they don't get the best they can. But now your having a go at Big Daz for actually getting the £200 through a better deal for his members than other offices have.dvbuk55 wrote:You're right it is hardly sweet FA it IS sweet FA in comparison to the delivery methods revisions that are being carried out nationwide for the same princely sum of .....yep......you've guessed it £200...........................take a trip to the real RM and not some backwater in the middle of nowhere that probably hasn't changed in the last 40 years.Big Daz wrote:dvbuk55

Re: What are the main reasons for this revision?
No! I am the one confused, is the 2010 Etc for the whole of the CWU membership, is it a united union or a fragmented suit yourself and feck the rest winners and losers organisation. The 200 should be solely for the delivery methods element and not hand in a few hours and get the dosh agreement...........if that was the case then why hasn't the union who is supposed to represent everyone say so?TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Dvbuk you've confused me by sending mixed messages - you have a go at the CWU Nationally and at officials as is your just right, when they don't get the best they can. Re: What are the main reasons for this revision?
I'm semi confused about this as well,Daz,does this mean then that you will after this have a delivery methods and WSM revison either together or one after the other?
If that is a yes then you would have 3 revisions,i have followed your revision closely and it didn't click that it was a 'self starter revison'.

You are 100% correct there is the possibility of 3 revisions, although as sequenced mail is due by the end of 2011 it would be utterly stupid to have three. Delivery methods sequenced mail 39 hour week look set to be combined into one revision due to RM's lack of planners.
dvbuk 55
NOWHERE does it say in BT2010 that £200 is for a delivery methods revision, if Im wrong please tell me!!!!!
The actual form a "Non sequenced mail revision" takes was not specified in the agreement. I can tell that you have a opinion on what should take place in a NS revision , but at the end of the day its just that, OPINION and not a statement of fact.
My D.O WILL still have to go through what everyone else is going through at some point, that being delivery methods sequenced mail and 39 hour.
I do not think its fair that CWU mbrs should have the £200 delayed and their chance to get more Saturdays off delayed simply because RML do not have enough planners to go round.
So were having the EXACT same changes as every other D.O that being DM's,WSM, 39 hour week and getting the EXACT same sum of money for it all (£1,000)

Re: What are the main reasons for this revision?
I think there is a hidden agenda. What business in its right mind would continue to implement revisions that clearly didn't work unless they wanted to.
A failing RM would make the Govt all the more eager to privatise it and get the problem 'off their books' it would also erode the amount of public support that we still have.

Theses revisions have NOTHING TO DO WITH PRIVITSATION.Budfrog wrote:I think there is a hidden agenda. What business in its right mind would continue to implement revisions that clearly didn't work unless they wanted to.

The delivery methods being implamented are agreed nationally with the CWU in the 2010 agreement.
The revision tools being used ie. IWT and pegasus are agreed nationally with the CWU in the 2010 agreement.
They are implamenting what RM and the CWU agreed and what was agreed by the majority of members who voted YES.
Now the performance standards were agreed afterwards, but agreed nationally with RM and the CWU and members didn't get a vote on that aspect, but i have to wonder what did the yes voters expect...... that they would be achievable? and that RM and the CWU national officers could be trusted on this?
Having seen what else had been agreed plus the evidence of the recent past.
To answer your question as far as they are concerned every i has been dotted and every t has been crossed these revisions can't fail!
If they are failing it's because we are failing!
Failing to deliver what we and our union has agreed!
They will not be changed, lightly if atall.
