Are you saying you've had a CDV revision implemented with no input from the staff? Our planner is asking for as many of us as possible to look at the walks and to change what isn't workable. It's no guarantee things will be perfect but at least it's a start and they are sticking to the agreement.

Sounds like the same old RM, people in different offices may as well be working for different companies.
I'm employed as a postie not a planner so imput from me will be f#ck all if they can't get it to work then tough sh1t. Let Ward and Hayes help the planners.

I knew it would go to pot, anyone with half a brain will tell you that it is unworkable with 2 different people and different speeds, temperaments, abilities add to that customers wanting to stop for a chat or ask directions, waiting for Customers to come to the door for packets, specials etc half the time just as you start to walk away they will open the door and say I thought I heard the door just after waiting 5 minutes, knocking twice and filling out a p739, while the other bloke wouldk be fuming waiting for you to come back or vice versa.

Its clearly ill thought out and unworkable.

Brilliant attitude. Billy and Dave aren't going to help you when your office gets f*cked over because none of the staff can be bothered to get involved.

The planners are asking for input because they don't know the walks like the posties do. The only people you'll be affecting is yourselves.

The agreement is in,like it or not.
Do your best to get what you can out of it.

Jockstrap I have to laugh some places in Scotland went out last year for a lot of day strike action , as did Bristol , Plymouth , London and others. Why because Royal Mail wanted to introduce budget driven savings and do their own revisons by executive action without CWU involvement.

Of course in many places Royal Mail introduced revisons which were flawed , however it is still not a pleasant place to work if your revison is failing due to no involvement.

The CWU have not got a revison process where they is full and systematic involvement of the CWU in every part of the revison to ensure that the members intrests are looked after and that the revison can work. If you choose not to take part then the planners will do it for you but it will probalby take more savings and be flawed.

In my view that is not reprsenting the members , it is not helping the CWU.The only people its helping is Royal Mail but hey what do you care , its all the fault of Dave Ward and Billy Hayes.

Yea that right...they created this flawed agreement.

I sick of hearing the same old crud from CWU bigwigs...get involved blah blah blah...what aload of crap. Our revision has seen walks go from an average of 600 drops to over 900 with all the drivers s**t thrown in for good measure. Poeple have raised concerns but its being ignored. Completely ignored.
Oh yea i forgot...its our fault innit.

 Many of us have that number without van sharing, and have done so for some time. And if you look at how many people are being sneakily got rid of--I expect the nunber of drops with 2 people sharing, will increase 3 fold.

planners doing it all here we just get told this is what you'll be doing supposed to go live in a couple of weeks sounds like they are putting 2 and a half deliveries into 1 van share and making deliveries 5 hours long dread to think what start time they want nows the time for everyone to do the job properly as noone is going to gain by cutting corners

 Yip--and once (if they ever) get this van sharing thing of the ground, you can say goodbye to seperate packet men, no doubt the bigger packs will go out with parcelforce, then more specials etc being foisted on to van shares. Not so far fetched, and,if I can see the day when outdoor duties will extend beyond five hours.

What input have the staff in your office had?

The initial Georoute maps are up in our office for us to look at, the ones that have volunteered to help sort the walks will then be asked what will work, what won't etc and the walks tweaked as necessary. I had a look when they went up and my initial impression is that they are around 30-40 minutes longer than the walks we have at present.

I understand that some people just want to go to work, do it and go home, and not get involved with anything.(99% of the time that's me).

What I don't understand is why, when you have an opportunity to influence and improve your own working life, some of you are saying you'll just let the planners 'do their job' and make a b*llocks of it because they will have no local knowledge input.

They won't be the ones doing sh*t walks every day and getting into arguements and hassle about cutting off, or even worse working over and being too scared to claim as a lot of people already are.

 Problem is, our 'input 'is totally ignored!
