Have you guys not got the holiday list on show?
We check ours if it's not full where we want we get in quick.

Also, any managers looking in want to comment on the lazy arse ones who can see into the future?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

By law you are entitled to take parental leave for such an occasion. Look at the directgov site for full info, Statutory parental leave is however unpaid. If you look into it RM may actually pay an amount or none atall, most likely

You could give your manager the option of allowing you to take a day from your annual leave, whereby you get paid and he has one less day to cover in future where you both come out winners. Or you could call his bluff and take the day off as paternal leave, but that would be his loss as he would then need to cover you for 2 days instead of just 1.
