A while back they used to come down in one hit around 2 or 3 fecking days before the end of the month,i mean ffs where have they been.
Now they come down in bits and bobs, some walksorted some loose some that need the bundle cut and sorted, usually over a week.
Now this is not hard,it's a massive contract, surely it can be organised better.
Get them to us a bit early so there is not pressure to get them out so quickly.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Me being the arse-licking, rent boy took all mine today!
Seriously I took them because I don't want a cr*p day on Monday.
The canny ones will say they can't do the absorbing on the Monday because it's too heavy with Sky Mags, Boo Hoo, spit the dummies out time.
And why is that?
We get paid to do a job, something some people forget when they want an early finish on a Saturday and not have to make up the time they gained!

I don't know why they've been turning up so late. But it's certainly not because we've held them back. Far from it. We have to get them sorted, when they arrive. And you're not kidding about them being back breakers! You should try sorting nothing but Sky Mags, in a hot building (it's like a bloody Greenhouse).
I didn't answer earlier, because I simply don't know why they're so late this time.

That's exactly the problem we have too. They just turn up, when they turn up. I've no idea why it's like that, it just is. Believe me though. We've no need, or desire, to hang onto them for any longer than's neccessary.
It's just as bad for us, sorting them. Because of the sheer volume, and sorting them indoors, without any AC. But it's a big contract, so it's just something we have to live with.

Chill, are you in a MC btw?youwot!!!!! wrote:sacs r full wrote:does anyone from distribution know what the crack is with sky mags, they all came into our office yesterday giving us 2 days to deliver them. are you told to leave them in a corner to the last minute to sicken us donkeys
why would you think that distribution staff would hide these things in a corner?in our office they are pushed through to processing almost as soon as they arrive and arrive in delivery offices whithin 2 days so stop whining about things you know sod all about and realise we are all in the s**t together.
Any way orders are orders and if management tell the MCers to hold onto them you hold onto them don't you,it's not your fault.
Our point on here is that they arrive too late.

Re: sky mags ( back breakers )
I don't know about the MCs. But when they arrive at the RDCs (first point of call, after collection), we have to get rid of them. They certainly don't want/need us to hang on to them, because of the space they take up. I'd be very surprised if it was different in an MC.
The problem is, that you can't fill an RSC with them (just over half full takes you to the 750kg max gross weight), because of the weight. So they take up a lot more space, than normal Mail.

Good to see that they're Mailsort these days and not some scabby downstream access shite.
