Re: 39hr week
If one office in the UK gets their 39 hour week implemented then the rest of us will be on a different pay rate. I thought that would be illegal
The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.
The time has come for union.

You could I suppose get the CWU to mount a legal campaign, in that you are being discriminated against because you are being treated differently, but then you would just fall into the "winners and losers" category which seems to be the current flavour.Broxi51 wrote:If one office in the UK gets their 39 hour week implemented then the rest of us will be on a different pay rate. Problem is they don't intend to take any work off you just say it's a 39 hr week now instead of a 40 hrtrythat wrote:We've just started our walksorter revision, ready for late September, and the 39hr week will come in then, looks as though the hour will come out with a few minutes aday, which I believe it will be 12 minutes per day.

Re: 39hr week
i dont see what the big deal is its only going to be somehing liek 12 minutes each day - and u will either finish earlier or you jsut going to come in earlier anyway !
i think we all know 12 minutes a day is nothing and you probably wont even bother using it bcos u know if u do youll fall behing and be out the door that little bit later

39 Hour week
8 hours Saturday
31 hours weekdays = 2 X 7 hours 30 mins + 2 X 8 hours
How does a FT fit a 4.5 hour shared van duty into that

Re: 39hr week
It may be helpful to the revision process if there was some definitive answer to the 1 hour less per week. The reduction could then be built into the unsequenced revision more easily when the sequenced revision allows the reduction - if it is only 12 minutes a day then it doesn't really matter, nobody is going to notice it are they.

Anything less than 4hrs and park & loop becomes very inefficient.
So....what would be your answer if the bikes are going?

Re: 39hr week
There is no answer, RML are relying on take up of attendance options that would lengthen the the working day.
Perahps PT will have to prep FT duties

Re: 39hr week
Your right Daz so if the majority of us numpties decide we don't want longer attendances....and that would seem to be the majority position in my D.O.Big Daz wrote:There is no answer, RML are relying on take up of attendance options that would lengthen the the working day.

Where does that leave the future of Park&Loop?.....London.

Re: 39hr week
Am I being numb here? Whatever your attendance is as a FT on a 7.5 or 8 hour day, there is ample time for a 4.5 hour delivery and more, your indoor spec will be adjusted accordingly surely, with WSM especially because that is when your 39 hour week is implemented.fishtank wrote:Your right Daz so if the majority of us numpties decide we don't want longer attendances....and that would seem to be the majority position in my D.O.Big Daz wrote:There is no answer, RML are relying on take up of attendance options that would lengthen the the working day.

Re: 39hr week
The problem is dvb with a 7.5 hr day minus meal relief and travelling your down to approx 6hrs 20mins for both indoor and outdoor work.dvbuk55 wrote:

If you have a 4hr30 span that leaves you with 1 hr 50mins for all indoor tasks including IPS.
Even WSM cannot produce those kinds of results so something will have to give.
I suspect one out of every two will be prepping the duties which is fine....unless you have a high level of part-time staff.

Re: 39hr week
Well I don't want to go into too much detail but I was amazed at the level the IPS was reduced to under the proposed revision for the sequenced mail when WSMs are operating and it was more than halved - in adiition to which the WSM staff are going to be prepping and IPS, if you have WSMs.fishtank wrote:The problem is dvb with a 7.5 hr day minus meal relief and travelling your down to approx 6hrs 20mins for both indoor and outdoor work.dvbuk55 wrote:

Re: 39hr week
Well...dvb you may be right and if you are then i wouldn't want to see what the span indicator throws up for a 10hr day.dvbuk55 wrote:Well I don't want to go into too much detail but I was amazed at the level the IPS was reduced to under the proposed revision for the sequenced mail when WSMs are operating and it was more than halved - in adiition to which the WSM staff are going to be prepping and IPS, if you have WSMs.fishtank wrote:The problem is dvb with a 7.5 hr day minus meal relief and travelling your down to approx 6hrs 20mins for both indoor and outdoor work.dvbuk55 wrote:

Re: 39hr week
Well as far as I know there isn't any moves afoot to move to a 10 hour day in our DO and so I don't think the revision has moved on that far yet, however, there is talk of hybrid duties, you know delivery, packets then a collection which will do away with SAs and they COULD be 10 hours but as I say we aren't at that stage yet.fishtank wrote:Well...dvb you may be right and if you are then i wouldn't want to see what the span indicator throws up for a 10hr day.dvbuk55 wrote:Well I don't want to go into too much detail but I was amazed at the level the IPS was reduced to under the proposed revision for the sequenced mail when WSMs are operating and it was more than halved - in adiition to which the WSM staff are going to be prepping and IPS, if you have WSMs.fishtank wrote:The problem is dvb with a 7.5 hr day minus meal relief and travelling your down to approx 6hrs 20mins for both indoor and outdoor work.dvbuk55 wrote:
