I had a perfectly valid question to ask of both the DO manager and my area union rep. He told us all, and i quote "ALL CSS operators will recieve that f*ckin supplement, i guarentee it"

The actual reason for my YES vote was looking at the agreement, and knowing full well, as a postman of 14+ years, there was no way more workload with less hours could possibly work, and playing devils advocate, was interested to see if the usual cowards ive worked with for years would break even more rules by coming in earlier, cars etc....
Standing back and looking, and reading here, seems they`re all reverting to type.
But, if you read my original comments, i feel aggrieved at being given the wrong advice or information. My area rep based his assumptions that our pay is thru the DO not an MC ..... and the agreement clearly states that we should be paid that money.

The Union told us they had explored this, and it was definitely to be paid, and on this info, we voted YES. We`ve been conned.

If this is not what you meant then fair enough but it is what you had posted at the time of my reply.

Hang on though H - delivery officers aren't the only ones breaking out into a sweat you know - I believe they had to call for a pump when there was a suggestion during the negotiations that maybe release time would be in jeopardy if it was a NO vote - you can imagine the sigh of relief when the baby was thrown out with the bath water.

But wait, what on earth were they worried about? After all, they've managed to secure us good deals over the last decade that have seen our working lives improved no end, haven't they?
What I wouldn't give, to be able to have all those on full-time holidays brought down to earth, pronto!

If enough people vote against them, that's exactly what'll happen. But I'd hardly call it a holiday.

Which is why we, the front-line staff, get turned over all the time, every time.
I cannot wait until they need us to go out on strike for 'em again, after lumping us with more D2D shyte, getting us longer/later Saturdays, and nothing at all of any real benefit to the postal worker on the ground.
Having said that, will they ever sound the call to arms by way of striking, ever again? I mean, now that they are nothing more than a second tier of management?

Mon-Fri, maybe. Definately not on the Saturdays they have now made longer and later for the troops.

Blimey, it's like a different world altogether, the world of a CWU rep on full-time release. Not at all like the increasingly miserable one they're helping RM management provide for us.
