we have had the wallington weeks in our office for approx 6 years now and i would never go back to having 1 day off a week.yes you can work your week if you want.i try and space my annual leave around my wallington weeks so im off 1 week every month or so.
as for the 1 in 4 saturdays off in the shite agreement we have suggested that we have extra wallington week or 2 to compensate not doing the 1 in 4 idea.

That 5 weeks will involve working 5 hours less so how will it become a harder slog

Yes but because it is now a 6 day product you are actually delivering the very same amount as everybody else.
And.....as you will be working more saturdays you are more likely to get caught with the day specific saturday D2D.
but i do agree with you the system has it's merits.

very true fishy

but i'd still rather have the 14 weeks off a year than 1 odd day a week without d2d

and don't be silly our office have been assured that sat specific d2d will never happen

sadly most of them believe it

D2D isn't subject to local agreement.
If you want to take 6 days then you take 6 days, that's the spec.
Tell both of them to stick their cosy little agreement up their a**e. :whistle

yeah kinda gonna do it my way anyway

but they still insist on colouring my frame for 5 days ( which clashes with the colours on the frame to make it easier to throw in but hey ho it must be a good idea they thought of it)

at least you get a week to recover from the slog not just a day a week to recover as royal mail like to give the tuseday off on a rotation day and the can change that day off with 24 hour notice were they carnt change the week off

Ignore him.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
