I've been told that as I have ordered and had two pairs of Magnums in less than twelve months, if I need another pair I now have to send mine to Dimensions, they will then get them "inspected" by an RM manager, who if he feels they are worn enough will authorise a new pair, the whole process will take at least 4 weeks.

This of course relies on my lino not losing them and actually sedning them off in the first place, this is the same lino who forgot on four occaisions to get me some new shirts.

I spoke to my H&S rep about it, showed him my shoes, his reply was "Do what I do, buy yor own" I have informed the management that if I slip due to these shoes being slicker that a set of Hamiltons tyres after 50 laps I will sue RM's arse off.

I have since been told that the entitlement is one pair of shoes and boots every nine months, which is probably adequate if you work in the locker or are on packets, but for us pounding the streets it's a joke.

There was a minute paragraph in The Courier says that we will not be getting the new jackets or combat trousers 'due to budget constraints'. Yes, they have run out of money. All those excuses about boots boils down to the fact that RM couldn't order or receive any more deliveries till April (new tax year) and had paid their bill.......!
