There have been one or two theories on whether all duties should be included or not and clearly if a duty does not change then the duty holder has a right to retain it. Then there is DDA and family friendly options and on this there are two trains of thought:
That all duties are included and those affected by DDA or Family Friendly issues pick a duty the same as anyone else and the duty is tailored to suit their needs
and
That those affected by DDA or Family Friendly issues choose a duty that suits them regardless of seniority
You pays your money and takes your choice

Re: revisions/re-picks
Surely with the proposed changes there are going to be no, or very few duties that wont change. Sorry, im assuming the agreement is ratified.

"Employees whose jobs remain unaffected by the major change will retain them..".
If there is major changes wouldnt this involve every duty in the office therefore no jobs will remain unaffected.

Re: revisions/re-picks
Not all duties will be affected within a delivery office, the locker, the callers, the book room, business replies probably some of the business bulk duties may not change - it will really depend what the revisions throw up.celerycelery wrote:"Employees whose jobs remain unaffected by the major change will retain them..".

Re: revisions/re-picks
One office I know has waited over a YEAR for a repick after a major change in over 80% of the rounds. The Way Forward means nothing.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Re: revisions/re-picks
Well reading the proposed agreement and if its ratified there will be 2 revisions at most places and 3 in others at sometime between 25 Apr 2010 and 1 Apr 2012.el_cartero wrote:Does anyone have dates when this will happen.
1. Normal Revision.
2. Delivery Method Revision.
3. Walk Sequencing Revision.
All of these will be at different times so it would be impossible for anyone to give other than a generalised date.

Re: revisions/re-picks
We have been told WSM are coming into our office by May, now we have not had a revision or talks about changing duties over it,
But my thinking is rather then go all out saying we want imput now, see what happens with the WSM then look at duties?
We will be one of the first DO to get ther mail first, one at 6.00.am second wave at 7am.
Not sure if this is the right way of doing things, My other train of thought is why not go back to the old system of say two deliveries?

Re: revisions/re-picks
Along with MTSF issues which stop certain duties going in, specalist duties, Dom Support, cycle mechanic etc, are not in re-picks either
