Re: The truth about standards
I thought that the new agreement required us to share with them and vice versa? (although the deal has yet to be ratified). Was also told all managers from my office off to London (I think) on Monday and Tuesday, where I presume they will be told what to agree to and what to hide from us, it will be intresting to see if they tell us anything that they learnt.

Mail might be down by 10% ( but I doubt it's true )bexhil palace wrote:So can Dingo confirm that mail being down by 10% year on year may not be an accurate assesment as most delivery staff suspected.
BUT RM STAFF ARE DOWN BY 25% ( 64,000 Job's gone, So much for protecting full time jobs )
We are carrying MORE MAIL per postie than ever before !

We are carrying MORE MAIL per postie than ever before !
We had managers from our main office admit that the volume isn't down, its the revenue!!
Caused by bloody DSA!
We are carrying just the same as before but RM are putting the spin that volumes are down!
They also admitted about crash sorting in M/C's and many items not counted in figures!
Always be one step ahead, play their game but be wiser. Revenge is sweet.

Find the best person in your office who is good at figures. If this agreement goes through.Arrange a regular meeting with your DSM with the individual mentioned.Arm him with information.Work out a strategy that links this with the Geo Route in which your rep will be involved in. It starts with the traffic and should end with the traffic. All condusive.Don't wait!

Re: The truth about standards
Meanwhile our area rep has agreed to changes in our office over the head of us office reps stating the traffic, letters per minute etc are ok with him,yet as you say they havnt been worked out yet!dingo wrote:That is rubbish . Royal mail have locked themselves into agreeing standards. It was even in higson's letter . That is why we are in a strong position . But everyone has to test the standards against a live enviorment. For instance royal mail talk about the upper decile offices the top ten percent but how do they measure them? Some of these offices could be starting early etc , if it's measured on cost per letter than London and those with riss payments will have a higher cost per item due to higher pay rates .
We have to get the standards right and they have to be fair and achievable. That may take a bit more time but studying planning values for hundreds of different varriations was never going to be quick.
Thats why people like me(and Peter Keenly!) dont trust this proposed agreement-if nonsense like the above is happening before the ballot whats it gonna be like in 3 years time?

Re: The truth about standards
meaning the 3 years the proposed agreement lasts for,but generally my point was that in some areas there is no confidence in the union standing up for the membership and squeezing every last drop out of royal mail, too much turning of blind eyes and shrugging of shoulders by area reps etcdvbuk55 wrote:
