It already happens in my office apart from 2 collections, all collection staff start at 9/10am do a 2+ hour walk, then return to office and go out and do their collections. It all started once we shut as a mail centre and turned into a hub.The lunchtime collections are picked up by the o/w drivers, who also now do hour and half to two hour walks. Its to great to see the lazy drivers working at last! :dance

I'm convinced its just another carrot to say yes, but it has not been thought through to be available in all the different types of delivery offices up and down the country. Ask your reps ,ask your DOMs how it will work in your office, but dont expect a straight answer.

Unless your office has alot of spare capacity i.e still on 3.5 hr walks, :d'oh! the only way is through lapsing/absorbtion,
cant see any other way, before anyone else suggests it, already have collections tagged to rurals on sat, walks over 4 hours
so not sure what other options are available :hmmmm

Must admit I'd not thought about offices still having set days off, we are on a rolloing day off system, but yeah those who gets Sats off every week sure aint gonna be voting yes are they ! Thats what i mean about not having been thought through for different types of offices.

some of us already have 1 sat in 4 off :cuppa

if you're working the five week on, one week off then together with annual leave
it ammounts to about 12 or 13 weeks off each year

or to think of it another way that's one sat in four

does anybody know of any other way 1 in 4 sats can be achieved?

Our area rep who went to the briefing in Bournemouth last week told me about a delivery office (can't remember where it was.) the full time staff work, Mon - Fri. All saturdays are done by AG's!!!!!!
