I see they have sorted the pension problem at the same time with this deal - most posties will drop dead of exhaustion before they reach pension age!

They have also sorted the full time/part time mix because any part timer that accepts being paid less for the same workload of d2d's is crazy
If this goes through I expect the d2d workload pro rata'd too although I know how likely that is to happen

It's no surprise that the majority on this forum will vote no as most of them r political but the vote will be a yes vote as most people live in the real world.

Can just one person tell me why they voted yes? I will read and take in your views but at the moment, for the life of me, why?

A 1 hour reduction in the working week :hmmmm now how are they going to do that, 12 minutes a day but all to be agreed at a local level (with my manager there is no agreement only do what I say). There is nothing in this agreement that addresses any of my main concerns - the excessive workload, the bullying, the unfair attacks constantly made on staff etc.

Aw well, off to watch B5 and then to the off licence for a big bottle of drink to try and cheer myself up
:Very Happy Just explained what the one hour reduction is all about on another thread, read it and weep!

The fact is most postmen will be out of pocket with this agreement. Me by £37 per week and average by £20 per week, I have no political interests but am a realist and on the basis of a wage cut I will be voting no.

As I am only part time (35 hours) and have a bigger round than some full timers does this mean that I will no longer have to deliver all my door to doors and can just pick and choose who I deliver to pro rata. After all I won't be paid to do them all. :mfo

No, but the way I read the agreement, hours will have to be found to supplement the extra work involved. That means overtime or cutting off.

Only after RM and CWU, singing from the same hymn sheet, have had time to bombard us with propaganda of why we should vote yes and painted a nightmare scenario of the consequences of a no vote.

I couldn't give two flying fecks about the money, I'm voting NO , because this job will just continue on it's merry way down the shitter.
This pathetic deal, does nothing to deter management from treating us virtualy like slaves, it does absolutely nothing enhance our standing as postal workers, nor does it improve by one single iota, our working conditions.
It's completely anti-family friendly, it does everything to hamper/put an end to, any reasonable quality of life we may have outside the shithole that is Royal Mail.

Oh, and this cnut, :cfo , thinks it's "a fair deal for our people", not as fair as the £2million he will nick off the British taxpayer for leaving behind him a postal service far inferior to the one he inherited, I bet. :cfo :cfo :cfo

Most people at my DO this morning were asking me about the lump sum, only two asked about D2D's in the agreement! The favourite topic of discussion was how they will spend the £400. They don't care about the agreement, just the money
