This is what happened to me 3 years ago. I'm an AG, when we (though not me) accepted all the strings regarding the single delivery. My early shift allowance was protected for 3 years and guess what, time's up. I'm now £10 a week worse off. I didn't kick up a fuss then as we all voted 'yes' and the full timers didn't give a toss, but as I said then and again now, 3 years goes real fast. Maybe this will convince some of the idiots in the company that we all need to stand firm this time, no matter how long it takes and how much it hurts. If we don't, I won't enjoy saying it in 3 years time but I will "I told you so" If anyones doubts it, just remember how fast this job is going down the drain, if RM win this time, we won't have a union, protection, benefits, allowances, anything. We'll be working for a private company that's only interested in profits for the shareholders,(not much of a change I know).cobra wrote::lfo
Oh yes at the WTL Sessions the managers have dangled the carrot of saying " oh you will keep your allowances for up to 3 years" Big deal what happens then OH YEA WE ALL HAVE A PAY CUT!!!!!!!!
Remember we voted for a strike this time, don't give in to easy.

Try suggesting to him a vote of no confidence and a re-election unless he actually represents the views of the members.postie28 wrote:no idea at all our rep. just seems to want a quiet life. hates rocking the boat. couldn't give us any tips on getting rid could you ? i know it's a bit off the subject . but.

rep
said it before,
hardest job in RM.
But rep should have backbone and stand up against proposals that are 99.9% going to
in favour of Royal fail.
We had a vote of no confidence against one but he was up against the most evil b*******d on the planet.

Re:- Later start times
Later start times have been agreed in principle at York Delivery Office by our rep.... a certain [EDITED BY POSTMAN:NO NAMES PLEASE]
all this without consulting the members! So could someone please tell me what we are on strike for? When our own union rep is basically going against the CWU and its members!!! I do hope Dave Ward knows that some of the CWU Reps are letting him down and all the hard working members who pay their subs weekly ....and for what?
So why bother going out on strike this friday when our union rep seems to have already made his mind up on behalf of his members???
Royal Mail will win in the end due to the apparent cracks and widening divides that are already happening within the CWU!
I for one will be cancelling my union subs due to lack of support from my union rep!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
