The final day wasn't Monday, they met Tuesday as well......

They just keep us dangling on a string because even though we're all P*** off with the situation, they think that there is nowhere else for us to go.....

Well next year I am going to be £150 better of when I stop my subs, what about you ?

If everyone did that there would be no union and no deal to be made, just orders. How could that be better than this?

First off it was that Royal Mail were going to drag it out to past Christmas and then walk away from the talks , which didt happen. Now its moved to dragging the talks out till the after the election. Again thats not correct.

These are not easy negotations. Royal Mail`s strategy for the next 5 years is possibly the biggest transformation plan of any industry. Remember its not the CWUs plan to have walk sequencing , later saturdays , less mail centres and RDCs. It is Royal Mail`s plan in which they have borrowed over a billion pound of tax payers money to introduce and have to repay that money at standard rates.

The Union had a choice , either we got into negotations on these changes or the union allowed Royal Mail to introduce their strategy without an agreement.

Last year offices from almost every region of the country took local strike action to force Royal Mail to negotiate on their business plan. Royal Mail in the end did start to negotiate on their plans for the industry.

The union has not been able to change Royal Mail`s plans in particular to later saturdays , less mail centres , less rdcs or their decision to change the workplan.
By all means withdraw from the CWU if some want to do that but your being facing thoses issues on your own.

However the CWU have managed to ensure a number of positive things from the talks thus far, that improvements in MTSF, mainly a full time employer 75%, improvements in hours , benefits in the ways of pay rises as well as supplements etc.

There is no agreement as yet. It is your right to vote which way you want , but please remember that Royal Mail`s strategy was in place well before these talks and they will not move on some of those issues and their financial plan will collaspe.

As far as I'm concerned take all the time you like! I'm in no hurry just go with the flow and hope our union negotiates a reasonable deal for us all. Even if it takes till next christmas! Nobody knows what it is yet so can you all please stop moaning and speculating! I also think many will rubbish the deal whatever the outcome because they seem to think they can prevent Royal Mails modernisation plans..... We can't! But what we can do is stick together! Pay our union subs! and hope our union negotiators can ease the pain of modernisation a little.... or even a lot! Cancelling union memberships will only strenghthen Royal Mail's negotiations and worsen our working conditions! We are the union and we will have the vote. Use it! Then accept the outcome! Whatever it may be!! We are a democracy and our collective strength is relient on that vote! If you don't like the outcome it would be better you leave the job rather than leave the union! I've seen it all before in my 30 years. Non union moan and moan but always take what the union negotiates! It makes me sick. They are the scum!
