Re: GOING TO MONTHLY PAY?
Of course you will be informed if there is an in principal agreement this week. But you won't see the agreement until or unless it has been agreed by the pec as that is the rules of the union !

Re: GOING TO MONTHLY PAY?
Why u all desperate to read an agreement that will probably be the end of an era as far as a posties lot is concerned. We are in a worst recession than probably any of us can remember, the company owes billions to our pension scheme. There is no money other than what RM managers can squash out of us for their own bonuses, and the drive is to reduce costs in a company that has been compressed to such a degree, that it can no longer carry out it,s function to provide a service to what was once a proud nation and a nation which itself is gradually being dismantled by those who pretend to have it,s interest at their hearts.
All this agreement will be, is putting all the existing manual labour costs into a mixing bowl, and the resulting mixture will be dealt out to make it look like we are receiving a windfall from RM. There is no new money. If there is, where will it come from. This is all about kicking butts and getting more out of us manually. It is a drive to the bottom of manual pay and benefits, and the excuse will be. We need to do this to remain competitive.

Re: GOING TO MONTHLY PAY?
I assume the PEC have been aware of the majority of this agreement for some time now and it is only the latest developments that they will have to agree to.dingo wrote:Of course you will be informed if there is an in principal agreement this week. Or
Will the be expected to read and digest the full 60+ pages that have taken the best part of 4 months to complete and come up with a realistic decision in the space of perhaps 48hrs.
I really hope it's the first one dingo for all our sakes.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

If the public only knew just how dire things have become and what the future holds I am sure a groundswell of support would manifest itself. Then, and only then, might something be done to help what I fear is becoming a lost cause......

Re: GOING TO MONTHLY PAY?
the thousand pound sweetner being mentioned for going to monthly pay is an interest free loan to be paid back £20 a week over a year so vote no if it is ever asked to vote on thats the rumour in our office

This rumour mill has half got a lot of things wrong. Monthly pay is not in any agreement.wide-boy wrote:the thousand pound sweetner being mentioned for going to monthly pay is an interest free loan to be paid back £20 a week over a year so vote no if it is ever asked to vote on thats the rumour in our office

Re: GOING TO MONTHLY PAY?
A big big issue for some of us is what about staff who were removed from pay during the dispute, outwith the agreement on pay and mod e.g. compulsory 30 minute overtime as required.
Does anyone know if this will be addressed by the Agreement???

Re: GOING TO MONTHLY PAY?
There has never been a compulsory 30 minute overtime, the half an hour flex has to be mutually agreed between yourself and your DOM prior to going out on your walk, if you do not want to go over your time you do not have to, if you do you are supposed to get the half an hour back when it suites You.Lemuel wrote:A big big issue for some of us is what about staff who were removed from pay during the dispute, outwith the agreement on pay and mod e.g. compulsory 30 minute overtime as required.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
