I beleive it should be B but there are new starts at our office coming in on 35 hrs. What about the poor sods that have worked here for a number of years with a view to get more hours than 25. RM piss me off.

Got to be B - seniority is the only fair way to do it. As for the above commentshadow wrote:I beleive it should be B but there are new starts at our office coming in on 35 hrs. I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

I don't know the correct answer to that but it has been said that they are probably on a lower wage and maybe some sort of government incentive i.e paying part of their wages. Personally I am not after more hours, it's really the poor sods that do I was thinking about. Most people don't know about the new starts getting these hours but I'm spreading the wordPostieWithTheMostie! wrote:New starts comin in to 35 hour weeks.. seriously you telling the truth here?? Surely if the postie with seniority as been working 30 hours for the last 10 years he must be happy with that so give the full time to the 1 thats doing the hours now, after all he must have had a chance to do the extra hours.

Re: Who gets the new FULL TIME contract... A or B?
I've been doing 37.5 hrs a week for a year and still on a 19 hr contract with apparently no chance of an increase. DOM has said that due to yet more cuts being needed my hours will be reduced to 30hrs per week. It's at that point I will be saying a 'not so' fond farewell to RM
I have been repeatedly been told that full time contracts are not issued any more by RM. I guess that was another lie.

I'm only repeating what I was told at work. Since when did RM do anything by the book, they are above the law, didn't you know that.infidel wrote:shadow talking garbage vacancies with more hours must by LAW be advertised.![]()

Well i would fall into that category. I've worked 30hrs a week for over ten years, plus worked overtime which equates to full time hours. But still no hope or a prayer of being full time any time soon.dblad wrote:Surely if the postie with seniority as been working 30 hours for the last 10 years he must be happy with that so give the full time to the 1 thats doing the hours now, after all he must have had a chance to do the extra hours.
Even though someone thats only been in the job for 2 years in a different office (only a couple of miles away) gets a full time contract before me.

Re: Who gets the new FULL TIME contract... A or B?
I don't know if there are any other areas but ours has advertised for 16/18 years old apprentices on a 5 day week Mon to Sat on .....wait for it..............40 hours, whilst we have a shed load of part timers - obviously not all of them want increased hours but they haven't been given the chance. Now I am not against having apprentices but it seems to be a little disingenuous to take on cadets for 40 hrs, knowing there are part time staff who would like to increase their hours. These contracts would be for 2 years, after which? but in the meantime they would show on the stats as full time staff
