why shouldn't we until they give us something that isn't crap. What I wear is proper outdoow clothing and it is blue so the same colour as RM but it not only does the job I look smart unlike if I worn RM issue which after couple of washes changes colour. I've had the same trousers/shorts for 2 yes now still in good nick in that time I've had polo shirts fallto bits evey few months cos it crap.

Was gonna start a new thread but might as well put it in here - I too have been waiting nearly 6 months for new RM footwear.. Just wanting to know who has a new pair Doc Marten boots and what are they like? been with the company nearly 10yrs so don't remember when Doc Martens were issued 1st time round but reading in the Courier a few months back that the old ones were comfy as once they were broking in.. And are these new 1's just a rip off as rumour has it they're made in Japan or is that a wind-up!!

I wear the uniform most of the year without too much problem, certain cold spells (or recent snowy weather) and I'll change footwear, fleece etc to make sure I keep warm and dry.
The Harrington Jacket was great for summer but they only offer a fleece jacket - what use is that in summer?!!?!?
The waterproof trousers are like wearing clown pants, way too big, mind are already ruined at the bottom where they have been dragging on the floor. (even when you phone up and order a new pair they tell you you might have to turn them up  )

A while ago they became "keen" about footwear in our office but strangely nothing has been said recently, but when people are waiting months for stuff to arrive I don't think they can say anything!

I think it will be again, very shortly.

I like and wear Cotton Traders' water resistant trousers, I think they are about £15, much better material than RM trousers. Their Navy colour is close enough to RM navy for the DIMs not to care.

every now & again our DOM has a hissy fit & makes everyone wear RM issue stuff, but as rightly posted, how can you when its $hite & hard to get.but i must say, gone are the clowns who wore jeans & trainers,i wear the magnums, the shirt & the fleece, everything else is my own & i will continue wearing it until RM get a grip with our clothing issues instead of coming out with the usual tripe

I put in an order for new shoes 3 months ago and still nothing also asked manager to order new shirts and trousers still nothing.
wonder what they will say when i don't turn in due to no clothes to wear.
I know some will say ask them again and keep at them but f.f.s how many times do you need to ask for the basic tools needed to do the job.
has any office got an office administator of any kind to eleaviate forgetfull managers making a hash of the little but important issues like clothing, wages, and
oh yes answer the phone when it rings now and again. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

and as for wet weather gear forget it they don't do em in my size had to buy my own

they never moan at me but maybe because they know they can't supply them!

If I were you I would agree as long as it is office wide and as long as they have an agreement that uniform is supplied within a specific time scale

we have people wearing trainers on delivery because they have been waiting 4 months for their shoes to arrive!
I ordered some shirts on 7th July last year and they turned up this week !!

I've got them. Yes, they are made in China...Haven't had docs for 20 year so I can't really say how they compare to old docs, or to UK made docs. They seem sturdy enough. Ripped my feet to shreds first two days, so alternated them with other boots for 3 weeks to break them in. Now they are really comfy. Best thing about them is that they don't slip. After wearing Magnums and feeling like I'm walking on banana skins all the time, thats the most important thing for me. My feet were getting soaked in the snow, so they definitely aren't waterproof, but aren't too bad in light rain.
I just hope the soles aren't smooth in six weeks time. I must be heavy on my feet, I've worn out (soles totally smooth) seven pairs of boots in 2 year.

We all wear alot of our own kit in the office i am at we have very little choice, staff have been waiting for 5 months for foot wear,i phoned for legging that might keep me dry they told me there is a waiting list, hence i bought my own, most of us also wear fleece tops as the uniform has nothing as a top layer over our shirts and we are out on delivery so long now you get cold if you don't protect yourself, staff are waiting for trousers so have taken to wearing dark jeans,i think i saw some one with some shirts the other day i think he had been waiting for quiet a number of weeks,so if they come at you over uniform just tell them your waiting for it,if they cut about it still tell them you will stay in doors until it turns up as indoor staff are not required to wear uniform,if waiting for shoes and get nagged at wear a pair of slippers in as the business has a responsibility to supply thats what one did in our office they took him out to get a pair of boots with petty cash!
Dont let them grind you down what ever happens :wave
