So, for full-timers, the first 4 hours of overtime will be paid at the lower rate?Punk wrote:Surely it must mean, we get the same basic pay as now for the 36 hours but as stated, wont be paid for meal reliefs. So your working day would be 7hrs 12mins without a break.

Re: Who gets to vote on this agreement?
If it's the case then for a 36hour week a FT-er would gain 40minutes a week for the same pay as now, ooooh, and no doubt we'll get an even greater workload for accepting it..
D2Ds - if they remove the payments and cap then I would expect a pretty large lump-sum and all D2Ds to be bundled together ready to be delivered from Monday morning - likely? I think not!I can't see how they could possibly factor in the time for delivering these in work-time; only 20% per day but with a potential 5 lots that's a lot of extra work either pre-prepping or faffing out on delivery. One good point about it; those poor old DOMs wouldn't be able to use that pathetic line they trot out "you can't book overtime because you were delivering D2Ds, you get paid extra for them anyway" - I've argued that one in to the ground quite a few times in the past, wonder what crap line they would produce if there was no extra payment.
Saturdays - they were ruined long ago, make them a normal day, doesn't make any difference to me now!In fact I would prefer a longer day and slightly shorter weekdays, I'm sick of everyone flapping around on a Saturday because there's too much mail (particularly DSA) to be sorted and delivered in too short a time!!

BRILLIANT!
So they will be getting the Geo-Route machine out again to make sure it takes 8 mins off our walks????
So what if we work 40 mins less per week??? They ain't gonna reduce our workload one bit.....
Totally rafted once again by the looks of things

Re: Who gets to vote on this agreement?
this 35 / 36 hour week thing is starting to look like a massive con.
Seems to me from reading this forumn that with unpaid meal releifs we will only be working 40 mins less per week for the same pay. So what the union should have put on their posters was .....we are campaining for the 39 hour 20 min week....hmmmm....doesn't quite sound so good does it. The way they trumpeted the 35 hour week was that you would still get paid meal releifs, now that would have been a decent rise.....un paid meal releifs is complete b******s.

Thats not the point, MC staff should be ballotted on their own concerns, and we ours.SpacePhoenix wrote:I would think that the number of DO staff round the country must be at least 25% more then the number of MC staff around the country.mclovin wrote:If this is the case:
Withdrawl of D2D payment
D2D cap lifted
Saturday same as week day's time wise
36 hour week
Then surely Mail Centre staff cant be balloted for it, it has to be delivery staff only.
Not sure on the figures but i'm sure there are more MC staff actually in the Union than posties.

Re: Who gets to vote on this agreement?
DO start times have the potential to have a knock on affect on MC start times as if DOs start later then the mail doesn't need to get to DOs so early and so they could have MC night shifts start later.mclovin wrote:Thats not the point, MC staff should be ballotted on their own concerns, and we ours.SpacePhoenix wrote:I would think that the number of DO staff round the country must be at least 25% more then the number of MC staff around the country.mclovin wrote:If this is the case:

Walk sequencing is another thing which overlaps between MCs and DOs, for some DOs there walk sequenced mail will be sequenced on machines in their local MC and so depending on whether the MC uses a dedicated sequencing machine or uses a LSM/iLSM it could have a bearing on how much later a DO gets its walk sequenced mail.
The only thing that I can think of that is a completely separate issue for DOs is D2D which if they remove the cap, they could have you doing one per day which would mean a 100% call rate and then all your walks would probably get georouted again.

Re: Who gets to vote on this agreement?
I wonder if the unpaid meal relief will also apply to part timers? It's a big enough challenge living on 25 hours money but if that is reduced I can't see many part timers coping with that. In previous jobs I had unpaid breaks which were knocked off your finish time whether you took the break or not. It made everyone take every single minute.
