We haven't had any pouch checks in ages, however most people in my DO use trolleys and I'm on rest week.

We have always been told that if you do have missorts,to mark them as such. Then pouch them off.
As long as timelocks, missorts and the like are endorsed then you're covered.
Well round my way anyway.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Surely the manager is just doing his job. I make random pouch checks every week.
Yep fair enough and for people who do the job properly there aint a problem,but....................

WHY is it ok for you guys to wilful delay when you wanna and basically bend the rules when you want to.

Oh and one last thing, sometimes even the best postie in the world makes mistakes,so taking them down the conduct code
willy nilly for an out of character mistake is ok is it!!!

My understanding is that if you are within your time and you find missorted letters you are obliged to redeliver. But if you have no time left you should show dom. A lot of those posties running around, coming in early, are bringing back several missorts, soon they will be in trouble, keep warning them but, 'they know best'.

you are dead right shelanda, if you find you have time at the end of your duty you are oblidged to re-deliver missort items providing
you can do so in your time and get back to office.
as for the runners let em get on with it hope they get caught.

At the end of the day mistakes will be made,we're only human,in my office it's what i said above.
It will probably differ depending on the Managers you have.
Interested in DOMs stance on this!
I would double check at your place to be on the safe side.
But below would be the safest option.

As a rule we've never been questioned about this at my place,it only came up a bit when they had a purge in searching post boxes on collections.
