most of us struggled in walking for miles and hoursthrough the snow as we are a out of town office it was a real effort on our parts, not told a thing all day about what was going to happen turned out we didnt go out so prepped and sorted everything going ,done by 10 am but would the DOM let us go .bollecks would he.
kept us in untill 5 mins before our leaving time although we had nothing to do for those 4 hours , coudnt even say thank you for the efforts we all made to get in just kept looking at us getting more and more pissed of .
tomorrow should be interesting as we will have two days worth of mail to take out in one hit and a lot of unhappy staff goodwill my arse
I was going looney just sitting there for 4 hours doing nothing.

Thing is, the snow is still really thick here, so with minus temperatures tonight and forecasted snow showers through tonight, it's going to be just the same, or worse 2morow. Or, lethal ice.

The amount of packets I have on my frame is a joke. Add tomorrows packets/mail, and it's unbelievable. Then think if there's still snow tommorrow and we can't go out, you can add Mondays mail to that.

3 days xmas mail sitting there for Monday? I think there's going to be some Sunday deliveries. I'd be up for doing overtime on Sunday, but considering they kept me in today doing nothing for no purpose, just wasting my time, they can shove that up there asses. Considering they know tommorrow is going to be hell, you'd of thought they would have just let us have today off to soften the blow considering we were sitting at the office bored out of our minds pulling our hair out.

4 inches of snow in our part of the country, though deeper where it had drifted. Fortunately, we didn’t get a huge amount of mail, considering the time of year, in from the mail centre apart from packets.

The DOM was asked whether we should use bikes? Answer: “Why not?” Should we double up on deliveries for rurals? “No.”
Got the usual speech about being careful out there.

Also told that once we were out there, we were on our own. There was no one in the office who could come and help us if we got into trouble. Furthermore, told that there would be no manager in the office after 12:30.
In other words, up yours, I’m all right, jack!

I had to walk round pushing the bike and got finished at 15:10. Managed to stay upright, though!
Tomorrow morning could be interesting finding out how some of my colleagues got on. No doubt, there will be some horror stories but it will our fault for taking unnecessary risks.

With special thanks going to our management team for taking such a keen interest in our safety and welfare.

It was really bad early morning when i went out with my reg,but by the time we all went out on our walks it was melting as the sun was out.
School run was bad as it's now freezing and -4 tonight apparently, tomorrow could be a mare as it will all ice up.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Outside my office at 7.30 this morning, that normally is a very busy road.

So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Well in our office we waited til around til the DOM to decided what we should be doing and he decided it was safe for us to deliver (wonder if he'd have come to the same conclusion if he had to go out in it?)

Was the heaviest day of the year so far as well, mega parcels, took me almost 5 hours to get round. Still looking on the bright side, got me some of those RM issue snow chains for my feet and they actually work quite well.... RM must have got them right by accident cos everything else they issue is crap :cfo
