I'm a 25 hr reserve covering 5 walks. I do longs and shorts. Shorts 5 hrs longs 6 hrs. When I do a long, I get an hour overtime, thats before going over. Walk holder does all his door to doors. I do all prepping etc on most of the walks, a little is thrown up on a couple of walks, on certain days. I get a monday off one week, tues next, wed week after etc. Every sat that I have off is followed by the mon off, so its a long weekend. Walk holders go in early, get out early. I have the van driver hovering anxiously waiting for my bags and packets etc, I just tell him to tell DOM that I have the wrong start times.
I have to find my own way back after walk...bus train, chopper...whatever. Go over most days.

a bit of stability would be nice.

All but two PT are 30 hours, one is 32 hours (Floater duty doing FT and PT duties) and another is 20 hours.

Re: 30hr contract questions
That is certainly a good idea both the 30 hours and the stability. Like fishtank we have a multitude of contracts, the least being 16 hours out of an office of 160, 56, give or take, are part time some from buy down. The part time strategy has been running for more than 3 years and it has always been a questionable practice, which is why I was surprised when the union okayed it. Now they are trying to preserve full time jobs, not that that is a bad thing I just think it's a bit late for some.Big Daz wrote:I would suggest we look at PT becoming fixed at 30 hours a week for all PT.

Looked at realistically taking full time hours down to 35, would mean, even allowing for the meal times claw back, 1 hr and 40 minutes lost per full time delivery which could be added to the full time contracts and those on 32, or 32.5 would lose a little, which would also be added to the pot.

Re: 30hr contract questions
I'm 5 x 6 hours with my own walk but my floater is full time (5 x 8hrs)
Our office is a total mix of FT and PT the only difference being the full timers do IPS.
