Now correct me if im wrong but the reasons above are why we were striking, yet having read the interim agreement non of this is guaranteed, so why call off the I/A??
Well, even an agreement with all your demands met is no guarantee. Sooner or later we'd have to give them the chance to accept and follow an agreement. I would say looking at the agreement that we have something on 1, 3, 4 and 5, with 2 being now largely irrelevant.

Your living in cuckoo land. You really are. The 'interim agreement' is absolutely nothing like the above! Yet again, Stevie Wonder could see that!

Please show me where on the 'interim agreement' it clearly states there will be an immediate independant review into bullying & harrassment!

ive been working for royal mail 6 years and been full time the last 18 months,in order to be made up i had to take on an extra 200 calls as the indoor work just wasnt there on the ips,not through lack of mail but through effictent sorters the amount of mail we get would make a donkeys back bend.Saying this i cant understand all of you wanting to strike all rail mail want you 2 do is work the hours your paid for as in any other job as for redundancies wouldnt u they rather b voluntarilly instead of compulsory. My walk has over 750 calls im out at 9 and finish my delivery at 2,its hard going but its what im paid for,it seems in my opinion that too many postman have had it too easy over the years and have milked royal mail for 2 long.Allegedly postmen up in london finish by 12 but still get paid till 2,work it out your striking for posties who get paid 10 - 12 hours for doing sod all.Weve been lapsing in my office for the past year anyway which makes it more fool them striking for posties that wont do what there already doing.Im not saying dont strike, but it pisses me off when you got posties being snidey and vindictive towards u when u know u work f***ing twice as hard as them.As an example theres a postie in my office who does his round does his lapse and is still on his way home by 12.30 everyday no matter how heavy it is.Problem with most of u is you havnt ever worked anywhere else, try working on site for 12 hours a day in the rain and muck lifting muddy roof trusses up on to scaffolding 1st thing in the morning, then youll see how easy you got it.This is the EASIEST JOB IVE EVER HAD,but the SPINLESS CWU have gone and ruined that forever, the reason why they lost there bottle in my opinion is,that in my area alone which is the cardiff 30% 40% were going back too work this friday, and thats just cardiff the union were losing the support of the posties who were starting to realise how easy london has got it.Thing im a different generation to you lot i was born in the year that they called the winter of discontent, ive only ever seen unions as trouble makers lining there own pockets just likt royal mail executives.PLEASE PLEASE REPLY,WHERES YOUR ARGUMENT.

I said we'd got something on all those, not the exact demands. Paragraph 4 talks about 'improved relationships - new and completely fresh approach that will bring about a radically different culture in industrial and employee relations'. This is with any disputes on this front going through the agreed independent people. Not an independent review but independent people deciding things on a case by case basis. The same with unagreed lapsing etc. There is the opportunity now for these to be suspended, reviewed and taken out where necessary. I don't think we're getting get much more whilst we've still got the option to strike. The alternative is just to carry on, s**t or bust. Never agreed with that approach given the position we are currently in. We've got to think of where we are in terms of the wider membership and not where we want to be. Look at the shock on here in 2007 at a 65-35 vote in favour of agreement when loads though it might be something like the other way around.

The only reason this is the easiest job you've done, best conditions etc is because we have a relatively strong union that has been built up over a number of years. If everyone took your attitude then we'd soon all be on minimum wage working as hard as the people on building sites. And yeah, I've done that and it was s**t. Why should we all join this race to the bottom?

As for cars/cutting up the job - yes we to convince more to stop doing it. It is defeatist to come up with stuff like 'it will never happen'. Lots of people stopped in office over the last 6 months through patient argument and hard work from the reps. We need to slowly rebuild class confidence, not just in our industry but all industries. If you keep up with this slave mentality then be surprised when management start taking the piss out of you.

Than what are you doing posting every 10 seconds slagging off the agreement? It looks pretty straightforward to me and addresses everything I was on strike for.

As someone has already pointed out, almost everything on your list of demands for stopping the strikes is mentioned in the agreement, as is D2D's, workloads, pay/benefits, better Manager/staff relationships (that works both ways remember), and going to ACAS which is a big plus point for us.

Totally agree with Sci_Dog,I feel sick to the stomach with it all, been a postie for 11 years and have never felt so let down by my union and some of my scabbing colleagues.
At present I just feel like we've all been truelly shafted, how on earth we gave them our trump card,no strikes over Christmas is just beyond belief,to steal another posters line, the threat of not delivering holiday brochures come January isn't going to have the same effect is it!
Cheers for that CWU.
Please anyone reading this who comes in early, uses their private car for delivery just please please stop and do the job as it was meant to be done.

Things can only get better right??? :nervous
