By the time i got prepped and tied up it was 12.30 so i loaded up TWO hcts with 15 bundles in each and gave a hct to two casuals and i only had time to take out 5 specials.

Not a light day in our office IF ONLY.

Serious question, how the hell did you get out @ 12:30 ?? Dont take that the wrong way btw, just dont get it ? How much IPS did you do and what time do you start work etc ??
Start at 06.15 on the ips at 06.30 till 08.15 had 12 trays of mail 2 packets bags and 10 bundles of mech and i had to prep D2DS time just vanished i new i should have taken a picy of my fitting as it was bursting then you would see where i was coming from but sadly couldnt be arsed to take a picy.

Do you think that it is acceptable to finish at 12 when you are paid till 1 or 2 in the afternoon. If you worked in a factory and there was no work you would be sent home to make the hours up later on in the week!! Does reason and being sensible mean anything to anyone anymore!!!!

we didnt ask for job and finish royal mail used it to get us to agree to change things. now they see it doesnt work toi benfit them they are moaning about it. if you want to question sense and being reasonable go to the managers at royal mail and the rules they make and then change every 5 mins. we dont make the rules we just follow them.

What would you do pet, if you had finished all the tasks set before you for that day? How would you fill your time? Paint your nails? The Royal Mail is not a factory. Lots of people have jobs that are not production line work. Perhaps you have spent too much time in factories. Go to evening classes, broaden your skills and perhaps you might not have to work in a factory my love. Good first post on this forum BTW. :Applause

Also a lot get done early, me included, because we work faster than we should , thats the incentive to get the job done, were happy coz home early ,customers happy coz early post. If they make us work to our time ,99% will start on time, do the job properly , and leave in every day , then take our time and do it at a normal pace and maybe live 5 yrs longer and die at 75 instead of 70 ! Also we`ll have to come back to sign in/out, which involves travelling time, meal breaks etc etc etc, so no one should really be complaining, especially RM. Its the only job in the world were you get punished for being efficient. The better you are at it the more you get shafted :coolr
Isn't that the truth!

Post deleted as it used the manager argument and was therefore against the rules.

Mine too Zuvinrat and boy do I need it, and I have to agree with Ricky Bruch's comments. I've worked in other business's over a 44 year working life and have never been in one that gets anywhere near the amount of effort that posties put in over their working day. To even attempt to reach RM's required standards keeps you under constant pressure for all your contracted hours and sometimes beyond them.

Normal Wednesday today, faihrly heavy but certainly not what i'd expect after a strike. Either there's a load of mail stuck somewhere or there is no backlog.

where is the backlog?
Gone now.

I think the back log cleared the MC by Saturday but as we did not extend and worked to the 318s the back log was local and confined to the office. Although even today we got crash sorting packets sent down in cardboard shrouds (all intra but not all for post code) today so the MC must have been under some pressure for some reason. :hmmmm

Our sky mags were in today but held back - im thinking that the thought is that IF we strike 2moro there will be no mail centre wagon @ 615am as normal, so they`ll dump the sky out to make sure no one gets off lightly
