While an O/T ban sounds good - sadly, too many posties are out for themselves and would carry on doing the O/T reguardless.
As RM change towards P/T contracts, we have to consider those people working 30 hours or less as they struggle on those hours and 'forced' to make up the hours.

Re: overtime ban [total]
personally i feel overtime for normal sickness absence on walks acceptable. not clearing backlog. Do your 7/8 hrs docket no more and let royal mail pay back your lost days pay ..... why give em money to pay for any fines , do the maths £60/day @ 50,000 payrol deductions = £3 million. Play about with daily lost wages and number of striking workers if you want but this as good example as any. claim 7/8 hours and let any fine be from RM profit not our wages.

If you want this dispute to have a short shelf life, then don't go out of your way to help management clear backlogs., otherwise be prepared for the long haul. Simples.
no coming in early to start your work, no running round your delivery, take your breaks, don't work your day off, don't work a nightshift on overtime, cut off at your finishing time, and most importantly DO NOT SORT IVO/OVO in your office to help Royal Mail all you are doing is helping Royal Mail and shafting your fellow colleagues that and it is akin to scabbing, because you are taking the mail centres strike money out their back pockets :mfo :cfo

Re: overtime ban [total]
i think the term is only do normal levels of overtime, ie holiday cover etc
my shift for one relies on overtime so that us that are on duties can have annual leave, and if the duties arent covered the managers try to get us to double up and just give the dims the ideas and show where there next savings can come from in april, and if we refuse to do so p-45 is on its way, so please only do normal levels of overtime
