Well, my experience is one of massive public support so the BBC must be conducting its poll where it can manipulate the outcome.

I think that after a raft of Post Office closures and with their mail rolling up at any time of the afternoon the public have finally seen through the lie.

Exactly most of these `people` are middle class arsewipes who think that sitting at a desk pressing a feckin mouse button and on £25,000 a year minimum is work.FECK THEM.

Same here, the union really need to communicate the reasons to the public now - their anger should be aimed at Royal Mail management not us!

You read comments on these BBC and newspaper web sites and what comes across is how ignorant these people are to the real facts of anything - not just this dispute. For instance one was complaining because she didn't get her mail before 8 a.m.! What time does she think we start? Depressing.

Of course public support is important. It's all very well saying f*ck them, but they are our customers and if they take their business elsewhere, then it will be us who suffer.

WHERE exactly are they going to take their business? TNT? DHL?
It'll still be us who deliver their shite.

Customers NEED to be informed of the TRUTH, not management propaganda.
If a customer has a genuine interest and asks in a respectful manner, I will convey the truth to them. If a customer just spouts nonsence in a disrespectful way..f**k em.

There are plenty of alternate couriers who will deliver goods. Amazon and Ebay are both considering their options. You can't honestly believe that losing those two 'contracts' will not impact on us? I'd have about 3 packets a day to deliver without Ebay! Packets are where RM make a profit. If they start losing money, then we all suffer even more.

We need public support and understanding.

I get packages on a daily basis marked TNT, CITIPOST, DHL and I bloody deliver them.
Also if Play, Amazon etc Do decide to bugger off to a rival company, it'll have nothing to do with me or anyrthing I have or haven't done.

I fully understand what you're saying and I do, to an extent, agree with you, but the 'customers' that'll be asking the questions are people like 'Granny Smith'
Amazon, Play etc 'should' have the intelligence to get factual information. A mult million pound company should conduct research. It would help matters if the CWU released something to the press and larger companies such as play, outlining the reasons behind the proposed strikes.

But as you may or may not know, some members of the public are cloth eared simpletons that'll form their own opinion based on zero factual evidence and pure hearsay. To those, I give a big 'f**k you' to.

Same old management propaganda, exactly what they said during the last dispute. Funny we've still got more packets than we can cope with, could it be that compared to the rest we provide the cheapest most efficient most reliable and most respected customer service experience ?
Let's not forget that responsibility for this dispute lies fairly an squarely in the lap of RM management. How many of you would have voted for industrial action if RM had NOT tried to attack your terms and conditions.
As for our need for public support ,bit like a jar of honey really, nice to have but you won't die if you lose it. Now for our political masters the Queen bees it's a different story so in that sense there's no harm in trying to starve them.

Yeh but what are we paying union fees for???? The money should be used to support us and by that we need the support of the public as at the end of the day that is who we are actual working for. Every time a statement is published either by radio or news reports us the posties are the baddy's is that really how we want to be represented???? When the real problem is RM and how they treat us and it is time our union with our money spent a bit of time thinking about how to portray this to the public instead of letting us be the ones who are on strike over pay etc again!!
