Re: WHERE IS OUR UNION.....?
In reply to 'keo'......it's not the claiming the 30mins back thats the issue..! It's the fact that 'flexin' is meant to be voluntary...only if your social/family circumstances permit you to finish later , then you can uptake in 'flexin'.RM on this occasion have taken the choice from members and are forcing them to do it regardless..and if they can't (for whatever reason) then they are severely punished...!!

Re: WHERE IS OUR UNION.....?
Hess i heard similar was happening in Irvine and Kilmarnock with the regards to flexing, the whole thing is a mess, we are recieving no help nationally from the union, nevermind guidance ... when was the last your rep recieved any news/correspondance from the union apart from the vote yes (we don't need to be told to vote yes we already know what is at stake Dave & Billy) material. Royal Mail is turning postmen against postmen and office against office in a attempt to split us :cfo

Re: WHERE IS OUR UNION.....?
Well hello Hess and PP i'll give you a quick updated position in one of the ayrshire offices there is official IA being taken on tues 29th the day after Monday 28th the bank holidayof next week. This will be on top of the 30,000 item currently failed in the D.O and where there seems to be no urgency to address the problem. This action is a contiuation of 14 weeks industrial action instigated by managements failure to adhere to national agreements on IPS with bullying, harrassment and intimidation of staff who cannot achieve there wildly unachievable workload or performance targets.
Now over the past few days the management have sought to ask the staff for 30 mins flex but to a divided workforce F/T one day P/T the next but where all staff refused for various reasons intially resulting in some day one letter(not seen that in the Pay&Mod)and saying if they refused a second 30 mins flex time by tommorrow they would be taken off pay which is illeagal(RM ignoring IRF)
Moving on after the first day letter the rep got in contact to say what RM where doing in the D.O and to seek guidance as its totally outwith the Pay&Mod agreement, as is strictly voluntary and an individuals choice, and was definety not compulsary as RM was saying. The rep was given this advice and was conveyed to the staff.
Friday morning comes and staff are asked to flex again all do but 3 refuse are taken off pay and told they have 3 options remain in canteen,go home or if they keep working it will be voluntary, but which the 3 did fufulling there contractual hours indoor sorting mail, under no instuction whatsoever from management they said. This was only the case after they had left the building (2 vechicle duties - one cycle duty ) and were asked to return to the office where the van keys, pouchbox keys, cycle were removed for whatever reason(mail integritay)so they say, must not trust them although 20 years in the job but are back working today its all BOLLOCKS
Now that the men may lose a days pay( 28 in Cummnock also) who in our branch is fighting to get the mens pay reinstated as RM are blatantly abusing and ignoring Phase2 (Variation of Hours),The word out of Glasgow&District is put a grievance in and wait 28 days and appy for an ET1 form (what lose 28 days pay)These men/girls deserve better if not from branch then some body at HQ at least, this D.O has had mass provocation over the past few days and this branch has been found wanting again with the members left to daily attacks with no help in sight.

i blame hayes and ward for this mess, delaying a national ballot when the members wanted one, this forced units to take actions into their own hands by demanding local ballots instead as things were deteriorating rapidly in their units, to be honest i don't have much faith in hayes or ward after they sold us down the river in 2007 when we had royal mail on the ropes, hayes and ward have to remember the membership are their bosses and not the labour party, we employ them to work for us and not the other way around .... keep it up and they will be out of a job soon, just like mandelson and brown :mfo :cfo

When are Hayes and Ward due for re-election? Then we can show them what we think of their efforts on our behalf...

Re: WHERE IS OUR UNION.....?
Unless we can convince someone to stand against them, it won't matter. Last time, they got in by default!jockstrapp wrote:When are Hayes and Ward due for re-election? Then we can show them what we think of their efforts on our behalf...![]()

Re: WHERE IS OUR UNION.....?
Yes. No-one stood against them, so they got back in by default. You see, that's the problem. We need someone to stand against them, before we try to remove them. Otherwise, we'll achieve nothing. And it's not like it's a position that most of us could take on. We need someone who's got the knowledge and experience to do a better job. There are people out there who could do it. But don't want to.
Obviously it's their decision, whether they stand against Ward and Hayes. But I just wish someone would.

Re: WHERE IS OUR UNION.....?
this applies equally to any argument we have with them . . . people seem to be forgetting that we are the union . . . we gotta stand up for ourselves and not wait for "the union" to come down and do it for us as if they're some almighty power . . . if we act for ourselves then "the union" or in otherwords, our workmates, will support us if necessaryPOSTMAN wrote:If they try to force flexing on you walk out again, and again, and again, someone will soon take notice.
