Re: UNION DVD
the dvd is a good idea and hopefully people who throw away letters without reading the content might appreciate.im fed up of people in my delivery office asking whats the strike about and i tell them have you read any of the correspondence from the union and royal mail, usual response is i dont read that crap.more importantly is though is that the workforce understand the issues behind it and why the cwu have been forced into this stance.if all it takes is a member to put a dvd in a dvd player and listen ,they cant really argue that they are not aware.

You do get that attitude unfortunately - it isn't much trouble to put a ballot paper in a post box either .darth postie wrote:the dvd is a good idea and hopefully people who throw away letters without reading the content might appreciate.im fed up of people in my delivery office asking whats the strike about and i tell them have you read any of the correspondence from the union and royal mail, usual response is i dont read that crap.more importantly is though is that the workforce understand the issues behind it and why the cwu have been forced into this stance.if all it takes is a member to put a dvd in a dvd player and listen ,they cant really argue that they are not aware.

Re: UNION DVD
I too think it is a good idea, visual media is probably more effective nowadays because, when I was young, we had no TV,we read books and listened to the wireless, but the following generations have been weaned on TV. There does need to be a little bit of expertise when producing them and in that regard I don't think this was on the button. Do we need someone who is shall we say less than photogenic fronting the main thrust of the argument. Maybe it would have been better to use a Q & A style where someone was asking the salient questions and the unions position was put forward. Perhaps some of the questions we as members have could have been portrayed.darth postie wrote:the dvd is a good idea and hopefully people who throw away letters without reading the content might appreciate.im fed up of people in my delivery office asking whats the strike about and i tell them have you read any of the correspondence from the union and royal mail, usual response is i dont read that crap.more importantly is though is that the workforce understand the issues behind it and why the cwu have been forced into this stance.if all it takes is a member to put a dvd in a dvd player and listen ,they cant really argue that they are not aware.
